Zumba classes are wayyyy too packed. Zumba either needs a bigger room or to limit class size and actually check who has registered for the class and who has not. I have had to walk out of multiple classes this week because there's too many people, people walking into class late and getting in my personal space, and people that lack proper hygiene in my personal space (I understand it's a gym, but still). The classes are meant to be enjoyable, but they are actually stressful.

I have to go to The Waterbury Or Southington YMCA, where I can depend on the heavy bag being up and accessible. It seems like the bag is never up and leaning against the wall, even after making a suggestion. The bag was up when I joined I don’t know who took it down, but they should have put it back. If that is a station that is predominantly a stretching or pulling activity Then the bag shouldn’t have been left up when I was there. Either way the bag was up when I was there so logic tells Me that it should always be there.
Lastly
if you can lift over 100 pounds with one arm and reach up over your head and hook it with the other, then cast the first stone

update after posting this review the heavy bag was up The very next day and a swimmer in the pool told me that the staff would put it up for me if requested I am very grateful to the Indian Valley YMCA where everybody is so friendly and helpful!

Went here for toddler swim lessons. Poor communication to families about class info or updates. The front desk didn’t seem to be knowledgable 1/2 of the time and were not helpful over the phone and did not seemed trained. The class itself was ok, but the teachers seem uninterested and just had the toddlers sort of play rather than teaching actual skills. The pay structure of the classes are also very odd. Disappointed, because this was close for us. We have found a new swim school that is 10x better.

Best family gym in the area! Kid zone hours make sense. Heated indoor pools. Great variety of equipment. Knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend.

I was going to give it a 0 so nobody would come here and Id have the gym to myself, but that wouldnt be nice.

Minimal weight lifting equipment (will usually have to wait to use), and usually being used improperly by unsupervised teenagers. Locker room is constantly full of senior citizens who shamelessly walk around without a towel, as children walk by them. It's disgusting and wrong. I really can't justify paying $50 a month. The staff is very kind though. None of the above mentioned is their fault.
