I play here weekly with friends. It’s a 9 hole course with a very interesting layout. The guys who own and run the place are very friendly. It is quite economical, the least expensive course of its type around. I’d be willing to pay a bit more for a round should they decide to improve the course by adding ball washers on each hole, repairing the cart paths etc. There’s even an island green where, the other day, I shot my first hole in one in 50 yrs of playing this game on and off. So, Chanticlair will always be well remembered!

9 hole course and reasonable value for money. Some fun holes, particularly #4 (tricky and pretty par 3). I liked that the holes were different and there were very few back and forth holes. Signage is non existent and course condition is not great, and look out for the mosquitoes!!
I would go back if in the area again.

Worse place to golf if u want to use a cart. They do not tell u there rules they will lie after words they did. They follow u around Harassing u about where u drive and tell u they are watching u. U need to give them ur license and phone number as well. I am older average golfer dress nice and treat every course diligently. If u want to play this course. JUST WALK. Not worth the hassle because they will ruin ur experience!!!

First time playing at Chanticlair yesterday, and can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised by the experience as a whole. Other than a few (very) bald tee-boxes, the course is in very good condition!

On-course amenities: 8.5/10 — There are plenty of trash bins scattered around for easy and convenient trash disposal, as well as ball washing stations. The carts come equipped with divot-filler canisters, which I haven’t seen very often on CT courses.. but ours were empty. Wasn’t the end of the world, we had no trouble fixing our divots and ball-marks ourselves.

Off-course amenities: 8/10 — Unfortunately, there’s no restaurant or kitchen attached to the establishment itself, so no food; however, they offer canned beverages and one-serving size snacks. Perfect for taking a quick break and grabbing a beer between 9’s. I was told there is a restaurant close-by, which is highly recommended by the staff.

Speaking of Staff: 10/10 — Every single staff member I briefly spoke to was more than courteous about absolutely everything and anything. Checking into my tee-time was quick and easy. Most courses I’ve personally been to have very strict, grumpy, and uninviting staff; but this course was quite the opposite. My partner and I had mistakingly parked our cart green-side, and instead of being scolded by staff for our mistake, we were very kindly asked to move the cart; no attitude, no eye-rolls, just simple and polite. Even the greens-keepers would smile and wave at us when we were passing through a hole they were currently working on. THIS is the kind of staff you want running your course. They maintain the rules of the course, without being overbearingly strict.

Course layout: 9/10 — VERY fun and interesting holes. 4th hole is an island green, which was my personal favorite. The feeling of sticking an absolute dart within 10 ft of the pin, over water, is completely unmatched. The fairways are pretty wide and mostly straight, except maybe a couple doglegs.. so as long as you can hit the ball straight, I think you’ll enjoy this course a lot!

Worth the price? Yeah, kinda! For me and my partner to play 18 holes (9 holes twice,) cart included, ran us about $100. Although I’m not sure why I was charged for 2 golfers with carts when me and my partner shared one. I’m guessing it’s the lack of customization within the GolfNow app; not by fault of the course / owners.

Overall I rate this course an 8.8/10. Can definitely see myself taking the 30 minute drive to play here more often. Highly recommend trying it out for yourselves at least once!

A great beginner 9 hole golf course. Well maintained and open enough to not be too hard with some challenging touches like the island hole.

Not a very nice course, staff was not friendly and did not let us take out carts even though the group infront of us and the group behind us had carts. Basically trying to talk us out of playing both times we went into the pro shop.
Didn’t seem like they wanted the service.
Very confusing.

You get what you pay for. A really cute hole in the wall 9 of a course. T-boxes are getting bad tho. Early may they were good now they are smashed to hell. Staff is really nice tho and the fourth hole is a really fun one. Great place to go for a quick 9 with buddies. Took one star off cause the t-boxes and fairways are showing wear and tare rather quickly. Will update if they get on top of it.
