We had the best week dry camping with our 5th wheel here. Stunning view. Fishing was great. Black bear and harbor seals are sighted daily. Short drive to town for excursions, food, fuel, and shopping. Bathroom facilities were near, but we never used them. Trash dumpsters near the bathrooms.

Came in towing 30 ft trailer on Labor Day weekend. The campground is on the water side of the paved road but poorly marked. A wide shoulder along the road permits free camping and parking bordered by a steep cliff. The shoreline is covered with large slippery rocks. The tidal bore is roughly 10 ft. Black bears wandering freely along the road day and night. During the salmon runs expect combat fishing, especially at high tide. Snagging setups are lawful. There are run down vault toilets. Dumpsters are available. Access to shoreline is treacherous and ramps have unrepaired washouts from erosion. Still a memorable experience worth the trip.

Way too expensive for the spot. Consider staying on free spots anywhere else.
Most of the people we met there didn't even pay for several days, they saw no one. Not surprised as the trashes were more than full and the toilets were very dirty.
Need more (any) maintaince to justify a fee.

This is a great location, right on the bay. It is just down the street from the fish hatchery. Easy access even if your rig is too big I think you can get turned around. We saw fifth wheels at maybe 30 feet. It's 20 dollars, but it has to be a check, kinda inconvenient . We saw eagles, seals ,otter, and a whale went by. We really enjoyed it.

Nice place to camp. Good view of Valdez from across the bay. Very beautiful sunrises, watched the clouds turn pink over a very calm bay. The sealions are very active in this spot, and you will hear them throughout the night. Only thing I did not like was the noisy blackbirds that come around in the mornings.

The campground is a turnoff of of Dayville Rd, there are posts along the turnoff that designate "campsites". Some sites have firepits; there are vault toilets and paths that lead down to the shoreline. There are no picnic tables or shelters. This would not be a place to bring rambunctious children; there are steep, unguarded dropoffs to the rocky shoreline and no safe place for children to play. It's just a place where you can keep your rv while you fish. When we arrived, there were no registration slips at the registration post.

Allison Point Campground is difficult to rate because there are so many pros and cons. It sits on the opposite side of Valdez harbor and is away from the noise and traffic. It is less crowded than the other campgrounds, the scenery is beautiful. There are pit toilets that were clean for the two days that I was there. However, there are some drawbacks. The campground is literally a parking lot on the side of the road. There is no water pump, so make sure you bring everything you need. Since there is no electric, expect to hear generators most of the night. It can be very quiet BUT if the salmon are running, expect wall-to-wall people. The smell of rotting fish after they've spawned can be overwhelming. If you are here for serious fishing, this is the place to camp. There are a lot of bears that frequent the area so tent camping is heavily discouraged. The terminus for the oil pipeline is at the end of the road, so there is sometimes truck traffic back and forth. There is no turn-around space once you come to the end of the public road.
