Zuma bike ranch is an incredible space in southern Colorado near Dolores and Cortez. This past weekend the Ninja Instructor retreat was held there. The ranch was the perfect place for a mtb retreat. Great camping area, plenty of open space to practice drills as a group. Incredible drops and jump zone! Private trails right on the property. The trails are the perfect place for the group to put skills to use including switchbacks and technical riding without the worry of other trail users. The trails link to Phil’s World which just opens up your riding options. The owner Jake is an amazing mtb instructor and just a joy to be around. You won’t want to leave! Thanks Jake for sharing your Amazing ranch with us. I can’t wait to return.

What a great spot! Access to phil’s world, hot showers, views of mesa verde. Zuma bike ranch has it all! While we were staying there the owners were hosting a party for all the Phils world volunteers so cool to see the community embrace mtn biking and they do a great job maintaining those trails!

I had a wonderful (i .e. fun and productive!) time with Jake learning the fundamentals of mountain biking. He is an excellent teacher. I am completely new to the sport, so he taught me all the skills building blocks one step at a time, had me practice and observe myself at each step while correcting issues I have having, and built up to being able to ride on more difficult practice terrain. I’m usually a very slow learner when it comes to sport, so I 100% credit Jake with being able to build up my skill so quickly in a couple hours. I highly recommend Zuma Bike Ranch to folks that have been wanting to learn how to mountain bike but are apprehensive about learning on their own.

Jake gave me a tour of the property and I can’t wait to bring friends back here. Not only is Jake a great teacher and top notch rider, but the facility he is building is going to be a dream.

Property has a unique history, is perfect for group instruction, and has access to Phil’s World. What more could you ask for?

I had the pleasure of camping at Zuma Bike Ranch recently and it was a treat. You can tell Jake and Jeanie really care about the experience of staying there. The campsites are well spaced and there is access to a few onsite trails right out of the camping loop. You can also access Phil World at the end of their driveway, so there’s really no reason to leave once you are set up there. They were in the process of building some new trails and making a nice hang out zone. The outdoor shower is a nice perk for camping at a place that feels like you are “out there.”
It’s peaceful, quiet, has beautiful views, and is a great location to base out of for exploring the area! Highly recommended!
