Very fun adult classes with Venice VBA. Coach Matthew is always prepared with equipment/balls/lights/music and is constantly learning new tricks and skills to teach all of his students. Classes offered 5 days per week which is great to really improve your level to be able to play on weekends on beaches all over! Super nice group of people! Really enjoying playing here

My first visit to Venice beach.
By the time we parked the car and walked down towards the beach..it was already sunset.
But the view was spectacular.

We tried getting the parking spot.. from $20 an hour to $5 for few hrs..we missed the sunset.

A beautiful evening...
People were bustling with skates, music and food...

I had the privilege of being coached by Matthew, and I was initially under the impression he was a professional player due to his remarkable knowledge and experience. His 20 years of playing shines through in his impeccable technique and exceptional teaching skills. Highly recommend VBVA for anyone looking to elevate their volleyball skills!!!!!

I have lived in Venice for 10 years and always wanted to learn to play Volleyball. My wife knowing all my hopes and dreams purchased me a private class and a month of lessons to see if I'd be into it.... and it was awesome! Matthew is a fantastic coach, very patient and encouraging for us learners and he's created a great culture and environment where the aim is to have fun. In only a month I've progressed to the point where I can actually play a game without embarrassing myself, which is a huge win. Highly recommend giving it a try if you've thought about giving it a try or honing up your skills.

I love the classes here. Matthew and his other coaching colleagues are present, intentional and motivating. The environment is relaxed and friendly with acknowledgement and attention paid to skill levels. Plenty of action to be had, it’s still a place of learning where value is placed on technique, strategy and physical longevity. Put that against gorgeous beach sunsets in a lively neighborhood with a good light breeze and some killer 80s beach tunes, and you are sure to leave in a good mood, regardless of whether your game is trash or bangin’.

Great training with a good mix of drills and games! Anyone curious should try the 'New student' class, you can book it on the site, it's basically free. You'll get up to speed if you're a beginner, but Mathew also offers good insights and training for those who are more advanced. Also people are very welcoming, it's always a plus!

An extremely enjoyable and knowledge-filled class! What I thoroughly enjoyed is how Matthew broke down fundamental skills in a comprehensive manner in the context of beach volleyball rules and games. This academy places the FUN in fundamentals! I genuinely would recommend everyone to attend classes here 🙂 either for fun, to get a workout in or to better your beach volleyball skills

We love Matthew and his kids beach volleyball lessons! My son has been going to his kids lessons on the beach (He teaches adults too.) for a few years and it has become his favorite sport. Matthew is an excellent and dedicated coach as well as an all-round nice guy. His classes are fun because although he is obviously passionate about volleyball, his patient and sunny disposition is contagious and perfectly suited to teaching children to love the sport. I love that the classes are co-ed and low pressure which is, I have found, unusual for kids sports. It's such a great sport to watch too! I mean, hanging out on the beach while tunes are playing, watching your kids play vs. sitting on uncomfortable bleachers in a stinky gym? Can't beat that.
