We golfed here as a practice round for an upcoming tournament and wow what a gem of a place. The front 9 and back 9 are like two completely different golf courses. Back 9 is one of the more beautiful and fun layouts I’ve played in a while. You would never guess we were in south Orange County instead of the wilderness somewhere.

Only point of criticism was the greens were recently “micro punched” which you don’t exactly expect on the last day of May. But not the end of the world. Overall would definitely golf here again.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to share my experience golfing at Tijeras Creek Golf Club with you. Yesterday we teed off at 5 pm on their Daily Deal Rate (You'll see why it was a Daily Deal Later). We were directed to tee off on Hole 10 and waited about 5 minutes to tee off. The wait time gradually increased and by Hole 15 we waited for 30 minutes behind three other groups. At that point we just packed it up and left with the sun setting so early these days. On the way off the course we noted that the hold up was a high school girl's team on the course that were walking and seemingly being quite slow about it. Anyhow, I emailed the course and asked why they would send us off on the back 9 knowing we'd encounter such massive delays and why didn't they send us off on the front 9. The response was that they were doing maintenance on the front 9, which I agree is legit. They further responded that my late tee time restricted how many holes we could get in, that they have three high school teams play on the course, and thank you for my understanding. No mention of the excessive wait times, no responsibility taken, just basically F off and take what you get. Sadly, me, my buddy, and two kids were going to join their club so we could golf there more often, but given the utter disregard for patrons and poor on-course management, we'll just visit on the random occasion now, if at all.

One of my favorite courses in OC. I play it 10-20 times a year. Lovely layout and you feel like you are playing 2 different courses, as the front and back 9s are completely different!

That being said, I am sad to report that the new management is not taking care of the course. The fairways are in poor conditions with multiple patchy areas. The greens are often in horrendous shape, pocked marked and inconsistent. Really sad, as this place has (/had) so much potential.

I do hope Arcis Golf remedies this. Shouldn’t treat Tijeras creek with the same amount of carelessness as Lake Forest or David Baker!
