The staff seemed knowledgeable but stressed and overwhelmed, despite having 10 people in the entire place. The wine selection was pretty basic and lacked much depth. Although, they said they change their selection quite often, so maybe we were there on an off day. It’s definitely more of a cocktail place. We probably should have ordered cocktails. Neat vibe on the inside, if you can find a seat. Fun seating outside with the hanging lights and patio furniture.

My family and I were excited to visit this bar for holiday drinks while we were all together to celebrate Christmas, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the start. The vibe when we walked in was off—though the other customers were kind and made an effort to make space for our group of 7, the atmosphere felt oddly unwelcoming.

We understand there was only one bartender working, but even then, the lack of hospitality was noticeable. We stood around for quite a while without anyone acknowledging us, which was frustrating given the small, intimate setting. When we were finally seated, no one greeted us or offered a welcome. We were simply handed menus with no explanation or even a hello. It felt like we were an inconvenience rather than guests.

We tried to push through and planned to just order a drink each, but the lack of warmth from the staff made us uncomfortable, so we ended up leaving. It's especially disappointing to have such a poor experience during the holiday season when hospitality should be a priority.

We won’t be returning, and we’d suggest they work on improving customer service, even when they’re short-staffed. A little friendliness goes a long way, especially during busy times like the holidays.

This place is truly unmatched! Maude has created such an awesome environment that is unlike any other place in town (or anywhere for that matter). She changes the cocktail menu seasonally and creates and perfects each recipe herself. I am always eager to try each new item because I have yet to try one I didn't absolutely love. Always unique, always incredible! If I had to make a list of the top 5 cocktails I have had in my life, at least 3 of them would be from The Traveler (with #1 being the crème brulee martini from the holiday menu- it's unreal)! Their wine offerings are also top notch and extremely diverse. Maude is an expert and will find a perfect pairing or recommendation for anyone's specific preferences. Maude also hosted a group of us for a private party and created the perfect atmosphere, exceeding all of our expectations. We had SO much fun, tried incredible wine and cocktails, and did not want to leave. In summary this place is magical and I can't help but tell everyone I know about it! If you try it, you won't regret it.. and if you don't try it, then really it's your loss.

I just found about about this place earlier this week and went for the first time last night. Everything was great! The atmosphere is moody, but somehow also incredibly inviting, especially with the wonderful service. The cocktails, wine and the burrata we had were perfect! Lots of fun cocktail options! I'll definitely be going back and would love to come on a night were they serve a full dinner.

Absolutely great spot! The same great folks that ran Downtown Wine and Cheese (which my fiancée loved) still have great wine selections (we walked away with a Spanish Tempranillo) but also a stunning seasonal cocktail lineup to satisfy a diverse range of preferences. The owner took the time to talk about the different flavor profiles and the discoveries that occurred to create some of the concoctions which left us eager to come back for the holiday menu coming out soon. Recommend the prickly ash martini, it’s refreshing, playful and definitely unique!

This is night on the town looking for a conversational place with great drink and ambiance. Small wine food like cheese and nuts. Perfect for a in between places or after a regular dinner. Jonna bartender was great and personable

Had a very nice experience the atmosphere is amazing, it feels very welcoming and interesting. Drinks were delicious along with the olives we ordered! Great service.

A wine bar and a hidden gem nestled in an unassuming quaint spot in the downtown district of Gainesville. A funky, eclectic and refreshingly private experience. Delicious specialty cocktails and wine for all vino lovers.

The cheesecake was perfect to close out the night. Appropriately named The Traveler- this traveler thoroughly enjoyed a unique wine bar experience and would urge anyone to drop in and see for yourself!
