The Sea Ranch Lodge: Dining Room - Annapolis, California

We made reservations well ahead of our trip since it was for a Friday night. We were seated quickly at a nice table with a sunset view. We started with the bread and olives. Soft bread with briny olives, sweet roasted garlic, olive oil, and balsamic. We shared the heirloom tomato salad as well. It was enough for 4 portions. It was tasty with fresh bib lettuce, peaches, tomatoes, cucumber, and mozzarella cheese. It was dressed nicely with light oil and vinegar. The women ordered the crab cakes which were about the size of a burger. Very crabby with a crispy coating. It was served with baby greens. The men had scallops with corn succotash. It had a light, but buttery broth. The scallops were tender and sweet. I enjoyed both dishes, but the succotash wins the evening. For dessert we shared a praline cremeaux. It was a small portion, but rich and not to sweet. It was a delightful evening.

Scenic and calm ambiance paired with delicious drink and food. Service was attentive. We had a seat by the window and watched the waves crashed as we waited for our food.

We ate at the cafe. They were very accommodating to a gluten free diet (although there weren't many options). The atmosphere can't be beat. My GF Avocado toast was the best I've had!

Stopped by for breakfast while exploring the Sea Ranch coastline. The meal was delightful, and we enjoyed a peaceful walk in the beautiful surroundings afterwards. The serene atmosphere truly put our minds at ease. We hope to return for an overnight stay next time.

We had an amazing time at The Dining Room while we visited Sea Ranch. Our family of 8 was seated at an amazing table right next to the windows to watch the sunset. Our server Jesse was super friendly and on point with extra attention to my kids. He brought crayons for coloring and made sure to get orders going quickly for them. As the sunset the shades on the windows raised on queue. We all were amazed by the timing although someone was probably paying extra attention to put them up at the right time. Such a nice touch. We were close to the kitchen and got to watch the team in action. My kids even got to say hi to some of the team when the manager Jay offered to show them around a bit. The food and drinks were icing on the cake. All of the drinks were well balanced and refreshing. Our ceviche appetizer was perfectly made. Entrees came and all commented on how well they were prepared. We truly enjoyed our everything at our dinner and will recommend to our friends and family. Looking forward to our next visit!

Sadly, this review is not a good one. My husband and I were so excited to celebrate our wedding anniversary but it was kind of disappointing. My husband and I are huge foodies and don’t mind paying high dollar prices for amazing food. This restaurant is trying to be high end but really missed the mark. I asked in my note when making the reservation for champagne to be brought to the table for our special celebration and it was never brought out. I don’t even think the server knew it was a special celebration for my partner and I. The food was really nothing special. We started with the bread and olives and it was not memorable. My husband ordered the wagyu steak and it was cooked well but was lacking flavor. The potatoes and veggies tasted like they were just cooked in oil. For being the most expensive dish on the menu it was an extremely boring meal. I ordered the scallops and was so excited as they are one of my favorite things to order. This dish was one of the worst dishes I have ever had. The scallops had NO flavor at all and they were served over corn ( that tasted like canned corn) and Red bell pepper and asparagus. This dish was wildly disappointing. It seemed liked they were seasoned with MAYBE salt and pepper. I have never left bad review but this meal was very disappointing. As Michelin star dinners and living in the Bay Area maybe we are just blessed with high quality expectations or maybe we just came on an off night? Such a bummer, we did not even stay for dessert ( which is my favorite thing to order). The best part of the night was seeing the sunset in the beautiful dinning room and our cocktails were very good. If you are looking for fine dining I would skip the Sea Ranch Lodge and head up to Elk to the Harbor House!

The architecture of the place is STRIKING. It's probably its best feature. The minimalist, cozy vibes inside with the large fireplace, rocking chairs, and funky music will immediately put you at ease. The large windows overlook the ocean, and we saw sheep grazing right in front of the restaurant. It was perfect timing to catch the sunset.

The service, however, did not put us at ease. For some reason, the hostess made us wait for half-an-hour before seating us even though there were several empty tables. The waitress was not friendly and didn't provide a smile or any recommendations. Maybe because she was tired at the end of the day? The bartender, however, was delightful. We should have just sat at the beautiful bar.

The cocktails were delicious - I really enjoyed The Moonraker, which included vodka, nutmeg, eggwhite, and other delicious things. I ordered the Petaluma chicken, which was fine, and my partner ordered the mushroom pasta dish, which was filling. The burrata appetizer had more greens than burrata. Overall, it was decent but not worth the price or the snooty attitude. Come for the drinks, apps and the view! Avoid the rest.

We had Kayla as our waitress and I'm pretty sure she's the best one we ever had ♡♡ we came for our anniversary. I reccomened making reservations in advanced and they were able to seat us by the window
Even gave us a little bubbly to celebrate. They were wonderful and the food/drinks were great we both enjoyed the scallops
