I have been going to this course since I was 14 years of age. Today my three sum was kicked out before we even began our game since one of our members who does not Golf did not own his own golf bag. Lee told us that everyone needs to own their own bag or we cannot golf. I asked him why that is and he aggressively responded with “because I said so.” I explained that I’ve been coming to the course for years and he responded with “you’ve just never been caught” which implies that I break the rules all the time even though I never have. I certainly understand Golf Course rules, especially since it is a game of etiquette, however, Lee should have approached us far differently, and in a manner far more respectful. He certainly would not have spoken so harshly to other customers, but since my group is in their early 20s he could take advantage of our age. 10 minutes prior to any of this taking place, a two sum teed off on the first hole. They were a middle-aged couple and only had one Golf bag so the rules obviously do not apply to everyone. As much as I love this course and have many memories with it, I will never be back at the Groves.

This course was recommended by a guy I met at another course. I recently decided to check it out and the front nine wasn’t to bad but the back nine wasn’t to good. The greens seemed to be in decent shape since it looks like they aerated them a few weeks ago. The greens were very fast! The fairways and rough need some work on most off the holes!

Fairly priced for a shorter course. Greens were in excellent condition, but were extremely slow. Fairways were in pretty rough condition, which was surprising given how good reviews are for this place. Pace of play was excellent. Played 18 holes in 2.5 hours. Overall would come back, just wish the fairways were in better shape. They are just dirt in a lot of areas.

This is our second year playing this course and absolutely LOVE it. The course is in better condition than any other courses in the area and super fun to play. Occasionally, we have been paired up with members from the community -- super nice, FUN and great recommedations for dinner and things to do it the area. The golf staff is AMAZING......very courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. The course is priced very reasonable for what you get and the aqua range is a treat! Take advantage of this gem of a course!

The ranger was extremely unfriendly and the people that live there are ridiculous, obnoxious, and the residents have nothing other to do other than complain about the age of the driver on my golf cart.

Some of the worst customer service I’ve ever had. Came with my partner and two friends. From the get, we could tell they assumed we were riff raff and did not want us there. We were immediately told that we would need to play super fast when no one else around us was told this or worried about it. The guy told us we had no choice but to play scramble. We started 10 minutes early and skipped the driving range just so that we could be ahead of pace. There were four of us playing and eventually we “fell behind pace” yet we never held other people back. We were usually on our last putt when the other team pulled up to the tee box. Yet we were told to skip holes 8 and 9 and go straight to 10 because we were “holding back every other person behind us”. We were told we could not stop at the Grille on the turn because we needed to keep pace. I’ve never been told I can’t have a drink on the turn. Of course we never saw another soul on the course because everyone else who was behind us stopped to eat at the turn. The ranger was just unnecessarily rude and ruined our experience. We didn’t hold anyone back, and we weren’t able to eat lunch. So disappointed that they run this place so poorly that it gets overbooked and you only have 30 seconds to swing otherwise you’ll be told to skip multiple holes. Will never come back here and will make sure no one I know in the Tampa Bay area has the unfortunate experience of golfing here. How sad and miserable do you have to be to ruin 4 people’s sunny, beautiful days by treating them like they are poor and don’t belong in the area.

First time playing is 6 months what a difference!!! whoever is the superintendent needs to get a raise , a pat on the back and his own parking spot. The course looks completely different. Very detailed and 90% less weeds. I will be recommending this course to all my groups and socials. Keep it up.

We were playing a nice round of 18 holes with another couple. Beautiful day, no rush until the ranger came up and yelled at us and told us we needed to move faster. Argued with my husband tom, ruined the day of golf
