I recently played a round at Rio Vista, and it was a frustrating experience from start to finish. The grass on most of the holes was unkempt and poorly maintained, with way too much mud even on a dry day. It was a mess for both my shoes and clubs, making it hard to enjoy the game.

The greens were in awful shape—almost every hole had animal droppings scattered across the putting surface, making it impossible to play cleanly. It felt like the course was completely neglected.

On top of that, the locals who live near the course kept showing up randomly to play a few holes, then disappearing back to their homes. This constant interruption really threw off my rhythm and made for an incredibly frustrating round. For the price, I expected much better maintenance and organization. I wouldn’t recommend this course until they address these issues.

Nice course to play. Now that the owners took back ownership it has big plans for improvement. Its just unfortunate that some of the employees in the golf shop are to uptight. Maybe they should retire for the second time..

Great cob salad to go! The club has lots to offer and the staff is friendly. The updated menu is terrific. The crispy tater tots are a must try!

Enjoyable course, wasn’t too crowded.. BUT the fairways were VERY muddy. Almost every single hole on the front 9 has mud/swampy conditions on the fairway. If the grass was better maintained it wouldn’t be so bad but very inconsistent.

Great residential course feel, but looks like a abandoned muni course. Greens were in good shape, but the rest of it could use some TLC.

Beautiful weather and not too crowded. Course has improved dramatically from two years ago. New management has done well.

With decreased watering in effect, some areas are browning up under the recent
intense heat. Course still very playable.

After the recent winter's rain, the course has greened up marvelously and the grill was quite busy at 6 p.m. with karaoke and a mostly full restaurant.

Super nice staff, very nice bar and restaurant. Gated/guarded community - didn’t have to show confirmation of tee time to the guard though. The greens are very well maintained and super quick and mostly true. The course is very wet and lacks decent draining. For golf carts: 90* rule is in affect (probably at all times). Lots and lots of geese and wild turkeys so plenty of droppings around the entire course. Almost every hole runs along a stretch of houses but the fairways are fairly wide. If you hook or slice out of control, this course may not be for you.
