OMG where to start. My wife heard from someone at work that the floating vine is a great place to go for some drinks and food so she wanted to check it out for her birthday. It is definitely not a place to visit. First of all they had no one running the front of house and later by the way the food came out there was no one running the back as well. When we walked in the door there was no greeting and we sat ourselves down which is fine but after 20 minutes or so of no server I got up and tracked some one down to take our order. We placed the order and the food did come out decent but not what was on the menu it was like it was thrown into left over containers. The menu read a large portion but that is not even close to what we got. The worst came when we wanted to get out of there because we were disappointed and just wanted to leave no one stopped at our table for the check so I went to the bar to pay and they couldnt find the ticket and when they finally did find it and I paid the it was the wrong bill and I paid for some one elses meal and drinks at a cost twice what my bill would have been. The person taking my payment left my card on the counter and i asked to have my card back he tried to hand me a stack of other peoples cards instead of mine. They were so disorganized that I could have walked out with other peoples credit cards heck I could have left without even paying and they wouldnt even know anything. Final thought, the guy that took my payment was the owner/ manager and he was drinking while working. That alone is a major issue. It is like the place is being ran by fraternity brothers out to just party.
With all that happened I would even bet that there will be some food safety issues in the kitchen as well as there bad service up front. I would give them 6 months to a year before they have to close up the doors... Good luck

First time my husband and I have been out since having our twins and this was the best place!!! Staff so friendly! Good variety of wine options. Such a nice and relaxing place to enjoy good wine and conversation.

We are visiting Corning, IA from Michigan. April 4. Staying in the Corning Hotel. Found this gem, The Floating Vine! Not a winery, but still had a fair selection of wines, plus beer and liquor. Limited food menu, so we ordered a Supreme pizza. It was so good!
It's a bar with TVs, a couple couches, and lots of windows. Very uniquely situated on a clean pond!
We plan to go again if we're ever in the area!

Upon arrival we were greeted immediately with a friendly hello and smile. The gentleman informed us of the property’s history and future. The unique floating bar was incredible. The pond had fish in it, including an albino catfish. They provided us with fish food, so we could catch a glimpse of this rare creature. The drinks were fairly priced. We were from out of town and they treated us like we were old friends. Super cool place to just sit and enjoy the surroundings.

Unique place in small town Iowa. The bartender was very nice. A surprisingly good bourbon selection. Feed the fish if you stop in.
