The Country Club at Lake City has had many iterations over the years. The current management does a good job of keeping the golf course looking good and, though I haven’t been inside in a few years, the clubhouse appears to be kept up well. In my opinion the best thing about the Country Club at Lake City is the bar which serves sandwiches daily. On Wednesdays there is a full meal offering where you’ll get good service delivered by Johnny, a friendly server. The food is usually pretty good and you’ll dine in a pleasant atmosphere - the dining room has large windows overlooking the course.
Bottom line? If you’re a golfer, I think you’ll enjoy the course and a drink and/or a bite in the clubhouse.

The fairways were in bad shape. A lot of the cart paths were broken. The course has no yard markers. The cost to play a round was way too expensive for a course in this bad of shape.

It’s a decent course for the rate. It’s just behind the hospital next to the highway so it’s not the most beautiful and peaceful course ever.
The fairways were in okay condition, and the greens were pretty slow. However, the tee boxes could definitely use some work. They were overgrown and very uneven.
We played on a pretty sunny day and it was miserable with very little breeze and shade.
It was pretty open with some trees and a pond next to some of the holes. There was some decent undulation which is pretty uncommon for Florida courses.
Hole 16 was very frustrating, being a hard dogleg left with a pond smack in the middle of the fairway. There were quite a few doglegs actually.
The pro shop is a little shack but they offered ice and water thank God.
We tried going into the clubhouse to get a drink but it was closed down in the middle of the day on a weekend which was odd.

Food was good, got a cowboy burger.

Air conditioner didn't seem to be working that great. Place was a little warm.

They have allot of seating and seam to be doing some updates on the inside.

I'm traveling and thought I would try the Lake City Country Club. I was greeted in the clubhouse by a young man named Zach. I didn't bring my own clubs because golf was not rhe focus of my trip.

I'm left handed and was able to use some lefties for my round. I'm almost 75 and have clubs of my own that were fitted to my own standards .

What a trip it was using regular steel shafts after being use to my own. But, I settled in and had a fun experience. Even with being caught in a typical Florida rain storm. I was drenched by the 14th green and rode back to the pro shop.

It's a lovely course with gigantic Live Oaks all along the way. I'm talking HUGE trees. Do yourself a favor if you're in the area. Play here!
