I hate to leave bad reviews, but our experience with this camp has been terrible. As a local, this might be the worst, least ethical business in town. Please don’t give your money to these people.

Long story short, we signed my son up for camp and received quick replies from the owner during the on-boarding process. My son did one day of camp and wasn’t into it at all. I showed up 30min before pick-up time to watch the kids surf but instead found my 7year old playing fairly deep in the ocean with another kid, zero counselors in sight.

I emailed the guy who runs the camp that afternoon to bring this to his attention and request a full refund, (please note they have a Money Back Guarantee listed on their site for kids who try a day and don’t like it.) I didnt receive a reply, so emailed again the following morning and a few hours later got a rude response saying that although he wasn’t there, he knows there were counselors watching them. No acknowledgement of the refund request, and no accountability taken. That was almost 3 weeks ago. We’ve received zero refund, and ZERO replies to the emails we’ve sent about the matter! This is a grown man, ghosting people he’s taken money from and provided zero services to. I’ve waited as long as possible to leave a review, hoping this guy would be a better business owner than this, but here we are.

Scott and James Holmes if you’re reading this, do better.

If you want a place where the girls are taking seriously and not left them outside the ocean, don't go to this place, they pay more attention to boys than girls and the message that the girls receive is that boys are better than girls, so they can spend more time inside the water and the girls have to take turns and wait outside the ocean.
I signed up my two daughters, 6 and 8. To start, there is not one instructor every three kids as it said in their website, and also, there is not snack everyday.
My 6 years old girl's group the first few days they teach them as a group (boys and girls), by day three, I noticed that all the boys where spending all the time inside the ocean and all the girls where taking turns and waiting outside the ocean. I asked my little one why that was happening and she said: The boys are better than the girls so we have to wait outside for our turn, where instructors where taking two girls at the time. I was so mad about it, so I asked the lead instructor and his response was: over the years this is the way that works better and he ended up saying: I'm not the owner so I have to follow the rules.
I immediately called and left a voice message and also sent and email because this was so wrong. They are putting a wrong message in girls' little minds. They should be treated them the same way and not teach this sexism. I'm not raising my girls this way, so I don't think I'm coming back. I asked around to the other parents at the beach and one Mom told me that she had to complain about the same issue on the first day of the summer camp for her 10 years old daughter.
Finally, the response that I got by email the last day of the camp was that they were going to resolve it, which they did, but they didn't even apology for the issue. They didn't call me back either. So I guess they don't get how bad is the situation and how bad the message they put on the little girls mind.

My son and daughter really look forward to surf camp every summer! They have both been participating for several years and they have the best time ever! The instructors are very encouraging and my children have both become very passionate about surfing! I highly recommend this camp!

We have been going to Surf Into Summer's camp for the past 6 years. My three children love going and have learned so much about surfing. Each year they meet new friends and learn more about the sport. My favorite thing about the camp is the instructor to camper ratio. I am never worried about their safety. We have tried other surf camps in Jacksonville and this is by far the best!

I paid for surf camp for my daughter and invited two friends to join her. Unfortunately, she tested positive for COVID the weekend prior to the start of camp. The obvious and responsible thing to do was to notify the surf camp and have her not attend for the safety of others. Her two friends who had no physical contact with her continued with the camp as planned. Before writing this review, I have given the business an entire MONTH to reply. I followed up twice by email, left a voicemail message and sent a Facebook message. I did receive a FB response, that said the best way to communicate was via email and they would "let Scott know to check". I have received no response. I am ok with not receiving a full refund, but any reputable business should have a COVID policy in place at this point. I would have been happy to be allowed a spot for her in next season's camp or to be able to apply the money toward private lessons, something, anything. We have done other surf camps and there are too many surf camps in this area to choose from to accept this sort of poor customer service. I'll wrap this up as a donation to this local business and will give my repeat business and recommendation elsewhere. A truly disappointing experience.

This camp is longest running camp that keeps kids stoked on surfing. Jon and Camille run a tight ship and with the 1to 3 ratio of surfers to instructors keeps it safe and fun. Nice job Scott on passing on the gift of riding waves to our kids.
