Amazing family run business from a multiple generation of competitive swimmers who actually care about the sport and the families/people involved in their business. Coach Alec and Christi are some of the most genuine people who you can tell put their heart and soul into their business. The few people I see leaving negative reviews obviously just don’t understand swimming and the work that goes into it or that not every person comes into the sport with the same skill level just like any other sport. Keep doing what you do, south Florida appreciates Sunrise Swimming!

Beware of private lessons scam!!
My daughter tried out for their youngest team Strokes-n-Fun Group. After her tryout, their main coach Christi, strongly recommended she take private lessons to learn more proficiently breast and butterfly stroke. She also mentioned for that group, they had tons of swimmers and were full at that moment.
She reassured me, once my daughter can perfect those 2 stroking styles there will be a open spot for her on the team.
She even partnered us up with the original Strokes n fun Coach Lynn. Coach Lynn was nice and cordial. However, after every private class Coach Lynn would tells us my daughter is almost there, she just needed a few more lessons. A few more private lessons turned into 6 at $30 per lesson totaling $180. After the 6th private lesson, Coach Lynn very dismissively stated my daughter can now proficiently swim both swim styles. BUT!!! She can't join the team as of yet because she is lacking Stamina. She then recommends, a general class to help with my daughter's stamina. Her stamina is just fine by the way! Don't bother coming here, these people are just trying to get your money. They really don't care about the kids. My daughter is now asking me why she didn't make the team. She tried so hard.

Express my disappointment with the swimming classes offered at Sunrise Civic Center. While I have had positive experiences with other departments at the center, the swimming program has been sub-par.

Life happens, kids fall sick, people make mistakes. Coach Christie is less than likely to work with parents. Once you pay, and if life happens, and you miss more than 1-2 classes, kiss your money good-bye.

Save yourself the drama and go elsewhere.

Thankfully I’m not a parent of any swimmer at this club, my review is based on how they host a meet. Unorganized, they don’t post any info for the swimmers, so the parents have to buy their Heat Sheets, as we haven’t paid enough. Like 99% of the clubs from FGC, they care only about the money, and not the swimmers. Not enough parking space, no animal control, there’s rats close to the bleachers by the lifeguard station. Rude people on the staff.

My son is on the Sunrise Swim Team and it has been such an amazing experiences. As a swim coach and instructor myself the care that each of these coaches take to ensure each swimmer is receiving the best coaching is unexplainably relieving. My son has made marked improvements in just 2 weeks and I see even more greatness in his future.

Sunrise swimming is great. Temperature this morning was slightly chilly but the good news was they heated the pool prior. Because of the smaller class size today, the kids had a decent amount of time with the instructor. There is renovation or expansion in process to make it bigger and better. Looking quietly nice, so far.
