Very bad experience with the front counter girl name CLAUDIA. I was attending 2 kids while waiting for my friend’s son swim lesson to finish. My little girl climbed at the counter and that Claudia shouted and startled my daughter. Everybody look at us because her voice was loud while she talks to my daughter. Even the old man rolled her eyes on her because of her approached and says they are kids. My daughter started crying and don’t want to stay in the waiting area because of her. Does that Claudia knows that YMCA is a family oriented facility and does she knows how to deal with kids? When I approached her she even told me arrogantly that “i’ll give you a paper to complain about me”.

I joined the YMCA on Quito Rd. because it was the only gym with a pool close to my house that didn’t charge me an obscene amount of money. The gym itself is fine. Nothing special, a little outdated for what they do charge you but the staff is nice and they make an effort to keep things clean. However, if you are looking for a reliable place to get a good swim workout this is not the place for you. It is absolute chaos in there. Every single time I have tried to swim laps I have almost collided with another person, simply because no one asks or tells you when they join your lane. Or there are kids breaking the rules and swimming all over the place in the lap lanes. I am more than happy to share a lane, but the rules are not enforced by lifeguards and it can be very dangerous. In addition, I think it’s useful to know this pool makes you circle swim. I have never been in a public pool that makes you do that if you don’t feel comfortable. They have signs on how to do it but people don’t read them and lifeguards don’t enforce. It is absolutely ridiculous, I have since discontinued my membership, it’s just not worth it. I hope this review helps the staff at ymca make changes to keep everyone safe.

I really enjoy the variety of programs you offer at the YMCA. The indoor pool is fantastic, and the staff are always helpful and friendly. There's something for everyone, and the sense of community here makes staying active and engaged so much easier!

Personal commitment to routine exercise can be challenging but when you feel welcome to be there and missed when you’re not, it’s added incentive. Coupled with great instructors a helpful, caring staff, and interactive equipment, it makes training goals possible.

My son has been coming here for swim lessons for the past year. He has really enjoyed the lessons and the instructors are really, really good at working with kids. As a parent, that means the world to me. Additionally, this YMCA has very clean locker rooms and showers, has great facilities (for working out), and plenty of parking.

From the front desk to the instructors themselves, the Y is welcoming and pleasant. I find the whole experience easy to navigate, and there are many options for classes to suit different needs. I would recommend Southwest Y to anyone who wants to get back into regular exercise in a fun and easy way.
