Donald Ross is allowed to make mistakes. This is one. Prepare to hear “fore” in your dreams for the next week. This course is too short for its own good, the staff is old and grumpy, but the drinks are cheap. The back 9 barely sees the water yet it’s said to be wildly scenic. I don’t hate the course but don’t expect a top tier course by any means. Just another muni

Busy busy day before rain forecast so we couldn’t finish our 18 but we did drive the cart the unfinished last 7 holes. #16 view is a beautiful water view so don’t miss it. Tee box and greens can be close so mind the group behind you. Lots of bunkers in the fairways keep it challenging.

Love this course! Great medium-difficulty golfing with some beautiful views on the back nine!

I played there last Friday and had a great time. First, the weather couldn't have been better; especially for November. The bunkers and greens were in great shape. The fairways were in okay shape, but after the drought this summer, I would say they did a good job maintaining them . Overall, I had a great time and would recommend the course.

I absolutely love the layout. The greens are excellent for a course that gets so much play. They are firm but will hold a proper shot; they are also accessible by pitch-and-run shots. The restaurant is also excellent. My only gripe in that the bunkers are sub standard, with little sand--more like dust-- and rock hard underneath.I It's open all year and the season passes, even for non-residents, are a good value. The personnel is great. PS I'm THRILLED to report that the bunkers have been completely upgraded--much more good sand and the borders have been re-defined and sodded!!!

Great course. A bit busy though leading to slow play. The greens and fairways were in good condition and the staff was very friendly.

Fun course; played from the back blue tees - a full 500 yards longer than middle tees; and you need that distance to create the appropriate test for the design. Some really great holes - famous redan green #4 is a beast; coined "shortest par 5" (it's a par 3). Testy #1 handicap hole #6; another redan green on long par 4 #14; beautiful new holes par 3 #15; and on the water #16. The greens are great; very smooth and reasonably quick. The conditioning of the fairways, tees, traps are "natural and rustic" and fit the old school nature of the course. Will be back for sure.

greens and tee boxes in good shape but fairways were burned out in probably 50% of fairway. Even with an ongoing drought, many other public and municipal courses are in better shape. Carts were functional but not great. the three holes by the water were nice but really not anything to warrant playing there again. they are not even on the water but across the street from a park at best. pace of play was slow but the ranger was responsive and came out when we called the clubhouse. bunkers were ok, but did have a few to many rocks/pebbles. probably best part of round was the cart girl who came by at least 4 times during the round.
