We joined this course about a year ago, something we should have done years ago. The course is well maintained and a test of golf. The routing is great and not one hole resembles another. As for the staff, they are awesome, always friendly and attentive. It's different for other area courses, you feel comfortable.

My experience at Shalimar Point Golf Club has been nothing short of exceptional, earning it a well-deserved five-star rating as the best golf value in the area. From the moment my wife and I stepped onto the course, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere from staff and members who would stop to chat to ensure all was going well. We played a round early in the month, enjoyed the course, and afterward, we discovered they offered a monthly snowbird rate at a very reasonable cost. Consequently, we opted for a couple's membership.

We thoroughly enjoyed the course itself. It's a fun layout with excellent greens, and the design incorporates some challenging risk-reward situations, providing a perfect balance for golfers of all skill levels. Additionally, it is a fair course with open fairways and is not punitive.

One of the most impressive aspects is the pace of play. Our average round was typically completed in under 3 hours and 15 minutes. It was always easy to reserve rounds for the next day at our preferred time.

Shalimar Pointe Golf Club offers a fun and challenging experience with a great layout that lives up to expectations for a course inspired by Dye design. The greens are in great condition, but very challenging with various undulations (5 star). The layout is both strategic and engaging, making it a memorable course to play.

However, the condition of the fairways and tee boxes were very poor. There is no defined cart path. Many fairways and roughs were difficult to play, which detracts from the overall experience (2.5 star). That said, the pricing seems to align with the current condition of the course, making it an affordable option for golfers looking for a fun round.

Despite the shortcomings in fairway and tee box maintenance, Shalimar Pointe remains a challenging course that offers plenty of enjoyment. It’s definitely worth a visit if you want to pay 1/2 of a resort green fee on Destin beach area, especially for those who appreciate a thoughtfully designed layout and quality greens.

Friendly staff, reasonable prices. Course is very challenging. Lots of waste bunkers and broken up fairways. Driving from the tee is difficult because the fairways are not tee to green. Having to hit short to stay out of the wasteland and then make a second shot on a par four that would be longer than my normal tee shot makes most of the par 4 holes impossible to score well. Stay on the fairway, if your ball is 6 inches off it so is out of site in the rough. Spent a lot of time looking for balls that would be easily visible on other courses. Gas powered cart number 60 would barely run. Pedal to the floor it would barely go. Would literally shut off going down hill. Very herky jerky stop and go ride compared to any other cart Ive ever driven. Greens were excellent. Sand traps were well maintained.

Cant say enough about how friendly the staff was. Awesome experience overall. Would make the drive every time over paying sandestin course prices. A little muggy today but you can tell the recent renovations went well without even knowing the beforehand. Cant wait to play it again down the road on a better day. If you’re looking for a more reasonably priced and quieter place to play golf down here it’s a great spot. Beautiful layout, Thanks guys! (October photos)

Came here for the Veterans Day sale. The course is very nice, the bad review is coming from the customer service. Me and two other veterans came and were told we would only be able to play the back nine due to the front nine being unplayable. We paid for 18 holes without a discount for only getting half the holes. We only played 8 holes due to weather. When we asked for a rain check for the nine we didn’t play, we got told “we knew what we were getting into”. Happy Veterans Day!

The layout is awesome. The greens roll good. The course is very challenging which was fun. My only gripe is the rough is crazy. It's so thick you loose any ball off the fairway.
