I grew up in this church and participated on the church choir for a couple of years. I left because I had a bad experience with the choir teacher and moved away. I’m sadden to say that so much has changed since Father Pablo passed away. He was the best father that church had. There was organization and things were in place. Now everything is a hot mess, they are VERY irresponsible, they are not on the same page and to top it off they give you different information. I set up to met with the new father for a baptism. He explained the rules and told me since I wasn’t married through the Catholic Church that I would need a witness that has been actively in church for us to proceed. I said I do have someone. So we proceeded to take the class. I had to continuously call because they never got back to me to set the date. They never answer the phone. Barely got back after leaving messages and I had also passed by the church twice and it was closed. 3 weeks passed after the class and we were still waiting for them to call back to set up the date. I got to speak to someone that told me they would get back to me which 2 weeks more passed and NOTHING! They finally called back today after numerous times of trying and leaving messages to only get told something differently. They wanted to give me next Sunday because that was the date I picked 3 weeks ago but since they never confirmed we had to change the date because we work and have to ask for that day off. So we changed the day to the following. I then got a call to confirm the SAME DATE we had JUST changed‍♀️ Then I was told that because my husband is not baptized at the Catholic Church nor we are married through the Catholic Church that the Godparents needed to be other people actively at church and that my husband and I would be the “WITNESSES”. When I explained what the father had told me, I was then told that the Father might have explained things with ONG to me? Who does that. I was WEEKS trying to get this done, calling, leaving messages, passing by and the secretary had told me that they haven’t even received the forms to proceed. I didn’t have another choice then to cancel everything after I had bought everything for the girls i was baptizing ?This was so stressful from the beginning to the end. I’m so disappointed on this church and how they are handling everything lately and I’m also heartbroken that they made everything so much harder for me. If they would’ve explained the correct way I wouldn’t had gone through those stressful weeks. Now my girls baptism need to be on hold for much longer. Is like they can’t get the blessing from God simply because my husband is not baptized and we are not married through the Catholic Church. That’s SO wrong!!!
