Course is in very bad shape. Greens have a large amount of clumps of grass sprouting up making putting next to impossible unless very close to the hole. Bunkers are compact sand. Layout is good but needs TONS of work. Glad I played it though so I can say that I did it but will not be going back unless improvements made.

Greens are in great shape and rolled fast. Lay out is fantastic. The views from the clubhouse and the food are great. Best value in the Bluffton area. Will definitely come back often.

Course is in good shape. Greens are much better than last year. Would have liked to have a good lunch after the round at 12:30, but they only had hot dogs for sale with basic condiments.

Sunday, June 11,2023; 710 am tee time. The range was closed, restaurant was closed as well. I was eagerly looking forward to warming up and grabbing something to eat prior to my tee time, however that was not the case. The clubhouse has an abundance of bulletins throughout the clubhouse, which I thought was okay but some might find it overwhelming. There’s an ATM that welcomes you to the left as you enter the clubhouse, which is also unique to see. The service is great from inside and outside staff as well, the back patio is great with lots of seating and panoramic views of the course. The course was in good shape and I enjoyed myself, the greens are firm and I found myself enjoying the challenge from hole to hole. Ball placement from tee shots are a focus here as you have great looks at the green from good course management whereas you are punished from wayward tee shots. The course is short and fun from the white tees. Overall, I enjoyed myself and look forward playing here again, though I’ll do my homework and find when the range and restaurant are open for next time.

I played Pinecrest yesterday. I recommend that you do not make the same mistake. Why?

Greens
A broken sprinkler line was not discovered for a month and they lost several greens. These greens have a sand and mush combination that has been rolled . Unplayable.

Tee boxes
Many of the tee boxes were nothing but sand pits. Unlevel and devoid of grass.

Cart paths
Broken up by roots, almost every hole had sections with large pieces of concrete sticking up requiring the cart to just crawl over them. Many holes have missing sections where the course management has apparently just given up.

Rough
The rough is being mowed to a height of about 3 inches. When a ball goes in, good luck finding it. You’ve got to get right on top of it and look down.

Overall maintenance
Some of the busted out concrete on the paths has just been pushed aside in piles with grass and weeds growing up through it. Broken tees are all over the tee box perimeters. It gave me the impression that the course either doesn’t have enough manpower, a superintendent who cares , a membership who doesn’t care or all three.

I paid $50 for this “golf course” which makes Parris Island look like a real bargain.

I’m taking this course off my list placing it in the same bucket as Eagles Point. I said I would never play it again after my last visit there last year. It’s only gotten worse.

The only positives were the grill which has great sandwiches and the practice facilities which are very nice.

Go play oyster reef or palmetto hall instead. I played this course earlier this week and it needs some love. The staff were awesome, very courteous to my party. Temporary green on hole 10. Greens are all in rough shape. Bunkers hard as concrete and haven’t been raked in ages. Dangerous cart path crossing from hole 14 to hole 15, probably safe bet I won’t be back.

Had a great time here. Mid-week, mid-day tee time was great, not very crowded. Greens rolled true. Fun, challenging course....keep it in the middle!
