Ojai Vally Gym was a convenient and pleasant experience for me. I’m a Santa Barbara native and have recently been spending half my time in Ojai. I needed a gym to workout of and found this hole in the wall place, just 5 minutes from my girlfriend’s home. There aren’t many gym options in Ojai and for the exception of the more costly athletic club, all are 24/7, key access gyms, that don’t always have a staff member to answer the phones (which makes it especially difficult to buy a day pass). The owner of OVG answered my call and politely directed me to Venmo his wife $10, to quickly receive my 24hr code. After paying the $10, I enquirer about a membership and was told that when I do, they would prorate the already small fee and deduct the $10 from my membership fee. I was 1 of 3 people in the gym and both members were warm and welcoming. It’s a very small gym but with enough of the right equipment to get a great workout. As a professional fitness trainer of 24 years, I feel that I’m a reliable source to make that comment.

Small discreet quite never over packed with people. No waiting on equipment owner allows members to control both l ac units fans TV & bule tooth speaker for music. Gym is always clean and members have 24/7 access to gym. My kinds place just a old school gym where you can get ur grind on with no distractions

No bs gym. High quality equipment, clean, well kept, friendly community.
They even have a full size thai style heavy bag that you can hang from the squat rack.
Unless your name is larry wheels, they will have everything you need to get a great workout in.
Id like to especially highlight the fact that they have a dip station. Ive been to so many gyms that do not provide good options for body weight workouts, but oh man, i think i moght have to marry that dip machine, its so stable, and its raised high off the ground which is a blessing for tall people like myself (no knees and toes scraping the floor at the bottom of the rep.)
They have like every grip variation for resistance machines under the sun.
And overall, they got more weight plates, dumbells, and bar bells available than i know what to do with.
Im strongly considering a membership to this place as my main gym when i move back to the area.

A good option for a work out in the Oak View area. Simple gym with all the basics. Two treadmills and 2 ellipticals. Dave is a enthusiast trainer and owner.
