Delivered a boat for a MEMBER of this “Club”,
We arrived in the evening, after a rough passage from Key West. In KW We had removed all the food onboard the boat, because the plan was to leave the boat at ORYC. I call ahead to make sure the crew & I would be able to have dinner upon arrival, I was told yes. After arrival we headed over to the Club to get dinner. We were then informed that they wouldn't accept Cash or Credit cards, this was news to us, we explained our situation & were told that it was our problem.
We asked if we could get food to go & we'd eat on our boat, we were refused again. We ask for advice they said go to Denny's on Key Largo, BUT we would not be allowed to reenter until "office hours in the AM". We were not rude, dirty, drunk or anything but polite. Sadly we were not treated the same way. I have been a professional boat Captain for 27 years & by far this is the rudest marina complex I have ever encountered. I will continue to relay this poor experience to everyone in the boating community.
