I don’t usually write reviews but had to. Was in town and a couple of us decided to play. Rental clubs for an incomplete set was $20 on top of the course fee seemed quite high. Was told each golfer was required to rent clubs for $20 a piece, but we would have to share some clubs, since they were incomplete sets. The starter did not have any idea who was supposed to be where to start. Because of this, someone from the bar came out to help but was very condescending to the other employee and us as guests. The course is run down for the most part. Most greens were well kept, but the rest of the course needs attention. When an employee asked how we were enjoying so far, we told them our experience at the start and they agreed with how their coworkers act, even naming them based on our description of their behavior. We were very rushed from the start due to their incompetence. We ended up leaving after 10 holes.

Ok it's not a bad course the greens were really nice. The T boxes need some attention. 44 dollars with a cart not bad. Here's my complaint so beware! My son was in town and rented clubs. I reserved him a set when I made the reservation. $30 to rent! It wasn't even a full set. No 7 iron had 3,5,9, driver 3 wood I think a hybrid 5. We asked that's it! They said yep that's it! She did steal a 7 iron out of another set! That was a rip off for sure they should have charged maybe 10 dollars

Golfed here 12/5/2024- super friendly staff and informative. We were walk ons and had no problem getting on for 9 holes. It was fairly busy but everyone moved along. There seemed to be a lot of trees down and debris from storms but they were actively working on cleaning it up. Prices were very reasonable and we received a veteran discount. I would highly recommend for a fun relaxing game of golf.

What a hidden gem. Definitely one of the nicest local courses I have played in Central Florida. Lots of changes in elevation, the greens were well kept, and the course was wide open and allowed for quick play. Will assuredly be back for another round.

I visited this course yesterday later afternoon yesterday with a buddy of mine and had an amazing time for the money and views and the comfortable golf carts and the amazing deals they have going on right now you can't beat it I will definitely be going back as soon as possible too this course..

The pace of play keeps it at a solid 3 stars. I didn’t use the practice facilities. The cart was older but fine. No GPS, but it did have USB connections. More than a few of the tee boxes need leveling. The fairways were fine, though at times you didn’t know where they stopped and the rough started. The rough was basically what ever grass happened to be growing. The traps looked fine, but l didn’t land in any (OMG!). The greens are small, and really fast. Surprised me. It’s a quaint short course (5700 yds). It actually has hills and palm trees. The old men though play it like it’s 7700 yards. It’s painfully slow. All in all, l actually loved the course. Very interesting visually. And the concessions weren’t overpriced. I don’t think l would go out of my way again, but for the right reason I would make the drive.

Was not disappointed. Played this morning following a significant downpour. Course drained very well. Definitely holds true to it being an "Old Course". Clubhouse had some wear to it. Pro shop was severely understocked. Whether that was by choice or a result of logistics crawling nowadays, I do not know. Found out there was no driving range, but we weren't looking to use it anyways. I believe the course should definitely hold itself to a higher standard, however. Conditions were fantastic. The links-style, municipal layout of the course was very challenging yet enjoyable. Greens were rolling a little slow, but I believe the rain played a significant role in that. You definitely get your money's worth. 2 hours and 20 minutes for 18 holes was very efficient. If it weren't for the hour drive we took to get there, I would thoroughly enjoy playing there more often.

My son and I had a great time at the Mt Dora Golf Club today. The staff were courteous and the players are respectful. The holes aren’t that long but the fairways are well guarded by old large oak trees, often on both sides. If they have great greens, I would have given them 4.5 stars.
