We had an absolutely amazing private tour at Lubee Bat Conservancy! The team is doing incredible work in bat conservation and raising awareness about these misunderstood creatures. We got to feed the bats and observe them up close, and they were truly beautiful to see in such a unique setting. It's clear that they are dedicated to expanding bat populations and educating the public on their importance to our ecosystem. If you're looking for a way to support a great cause and experience something special, I highly recommend making an appointment to visit. Tours are by appointment, and it's well worth it!

FL Bat Fest was awesome at Lubee!
Food vendors, merch vendors, live music, they had a beer garden.
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the bats! I'll be going back next year!

This was my favorite trip in a long time. I am a lifelong bat fan and it was so great to get to them taken care of and witness all their quirks. We did the Valentines tour and the swag bag was a nice addition to the trip. This was well worth the trip and I would love to go back.

We've been here now for a private tour and for Bat-Fest and loved it both times. If there's any event you can go to, go to it. Pay whatever they're asking to do it, it's worth it. Volunteer or donate if you can. This place does amazing work for wonderful creatures!

Prior to this place opening there was virtually nothing known about fruit bats or fox bats (old world - equator) now we know a lot!!! Visiting here is like taking a trip to Indonesia & Madagascar! We got to visit during a summer event day. Learned so much and got to see the bats up close enjoying fruit kabobs! We don’t have any native fruit bats in Florida - our bats are all small and insectivores! The bats here don’t hibernate, they don’t have a time schedule that depends on dusk/dawn like our bats in FL because they eat fruits not insects that come out at dusk - the only thing bats do upright is pee & poop. Most of the bats here live in trees in their home country (some caves). They keep the males and females separate (unless breeding them). Seeing these bats up close is something you won’t forget! The staff is very knowledgeable! Also, Take advantage and visit the university bat houses nearby in Gainesville 10min before sunset! Our native bats come out all at once!

We had a private tour on 1/12/2023 and it was genuinely an amazing experience. The facilities were well maintained at a high level of cleanliness and all of the bats and other animals there were in excellent condition. It’s evident that these beautiful creatures are being cared for in a stress free environment with plenty of attention. The guide we had, Maddie, knew each bat by name- there are dozens - so the fact that she knew each by name is indicative of the personalized individual attention these animals receive.

As much as I wanted to, of course, touching the bats is not allowed; for their safety as well as visitors’. We were given skewers from which we were able to feed them cantaloupe. So fun to do!

I would recommend Lubee to anyone interested in an up close educational encounter with bats.

Amazing sanctuary!!! My husband surprised me with a private tour and it didn't disappoint!
We were introduced to resident bats, tortoises, and knowledgeable humans.
We were excited to interact with the animals in their enclosures, feeding them, and giving them enrichment activities.
I will definitely take advantage of this opportunity again if able.
