We had an exceptional couple of days. The new cabins are beautiful and big. Although they are designed more for a family or group, the two of us and our dog had a quite relaxing experience. Since we happened to be there on a Friday night, we also had the chance to enjoy the Friday night Fish Fry at Mulligans.
We did not have a chance to enjoy the outside, so we can't wait to come back and bring our friends and/or family.
Highly recommend trying this out.

This cabins here are 5Stars, but the price of the cabins brings the rating down. How can they charge weekday $375/night + junk fees and tax…. When the other state parks I’ve stayed in (Hard labor, GA Vets, Richard B Russell) are $190/ night. Yea the cabins are new, excellent accommodation outside and inside, but the price is where my golf group will not go back there, until they get rid of their insane pricing.

Everything about the week has been great here. Accommodations were good. The staff has been friendly and helpful. The food has been good. And the views anywhere you go on the property are great.

We were Hurricane Milton refugees from Venice, FL. Chose the property based upon the 3-Star rating and the (obviously faked) glowing reviews. This place had its heyday probably 20+ years ago, but it's been left to rot for the most part - budget (State?) favoritism applied to the golf course facilities it appears. The spotty WiFi (unsecured) didn't allow me to work. Very disappointing. And not cheap! I blame mismanagement by "Coral Hospitality" - the hospitality group responsible for guest experience at the property. If you're gonna tout yourself as a destination resort (it's in the middle of nowhere), then you had better deliver.

The rooms are always clean . We stay here every year for peaches to beaches yard sale. Not anymore, they have went up on the rooms 125% above last years price of $155.18. All because they finished the cabins is what I was told. For $347.54 per night is ridiculous, that’s Ritz Carlton prices. We will not be going back unless prices drop to a reasonable fee.

I had to stop here to get a day pass to go through the park cute little park until you get to one area of it there was no close gate there was no railing going across the road to tell you you could not go in that area and the area was to the beach and boat dock well I stopped to read the historic sign inside that area where the boat dock and Beach was and I had a gentleman walk up to me and tell me the areas closed and I said there's nothing to say that he says there's signs I said the signs are over in the grass they're not blocking the road The gate was wide open and you can see by the pictures that I have included that indeed the area closed signs were over off the road in the grassy area and that the main gate down that road was wide open The employees there are just plain rude I have never ran into a state park that 95% of them are rude and I didn't understand that there was no need for it All I was doing was driving through taking a look and stop dorita historic sign about wide beach was named after who it was and it was quite interesting to learn the historic part of it it dealt with the first the gentleman that created the first bottling plants for Coca-Cola in that area so that's kind of historic and my opinion It should require a moment of reading and if you don't want somebody down there put today on gate up or put the road closed sign out there that blocks the road!!!

I should’ve known from the start this lodge was not going to be a good experience. I asked for an early check-in and they said it was not possible when I got there. The place was basically empty but I was still told I’d have to wait until three to check in. At 2:30 I asked again and they finally let me check in. I went to the restaurant and was told there was only a buffet for lunch. I asked about dinner and they said they don’t serve anything but pizza on Sunday. I was told the bike rental was free, but the bikes they had were poor repair and dangerous. (Bad brakes and low tire pressure) I went to take a shower but didn’t get any hot water. I called and they said to leave it on. I had to leave it on for over 20 minutes to get any hot water. On Sunday I asked about pool hours and was told “sunrise to sunset.” On Monday I went out to use pool and spent five minutes trying to open the gate until somebody came out and told me that the pool was closed on Mondays due to chemical maintenance. Finally the tennis courts were nothing but a dirt pile. Find another place to stay if you are in the area.
