Not bad for a city course. Greens were in decent shape, a couple were needing some TLC in areas but overall decent for mid-summer. The tee boxes were concrete, really hard to get a tee in the ground. It’s an easy par 70 track where a slice off the tee will be in play on another fairway likely. Newer carts with GPS were nice.

If you are a woman or beginning golfer, I would encourage you to read this review, as well as other reviews. My friends and I have played this course a few other times without issue. We are beggining golfers, but still played 18 holes at a 5 hour pace. Today, we were treated very poorly by the staff with no apology or remorse when we discussed with a male worked after our game. The course was incredibly busy with everyone going at a slower pace. We know the etiquette of the game and let people play through when appropriate, but we were also waiting on groups in front of us. A course marshall approached us on hole 9 and said “you all are playing too slow and should be on the green already”. We explained that everyone on the course has been waiting today and in fact, we offered the folks behind us to play through, but they declined and then proceeded to nearly hit us. They then asked if I had actually paid for all four of us to play, which was the second time I had to provide my receipt to prove we had paid. I then asked him, are you treating us like this because we are a group of 4 women, to which he laughed in my face. After our game, we attempted to discuss with the man working in the pro shop, but he told us, “there are other options for you all to play at in the future instead of here”. Overall, staff is misogynistic and rude. The is a Memphis PUBLIC course and all residents of Memphis should be able to safely play here.

We golfed 9 holes at Galloway today. The course itself is nice, not too challenging for novice golfers like me and my friends to go out and have a good time. The people at the front desk and the gentleman at the cart rental area were all very friendly. However I feel compelled to write a review about how rudely my friends and I were treated at the beginning of our 9. The man who checked us in repeatedly talked to me with an attitude, almost like I was in his way. And then before we started playing he rolled up to our group to say we absolutely could not play as a six some (we booked a foursome and a twosome, and we were all waiting to begin playing). we said we’re not playing as a six. And he kept repeating it to us, while we were stuck waiting behind a group. We were trying to let the group ahead of us get to the green before we started driving behind them, and they came back up again to say “just go, you’ll never hit them.” And when we were leaving he said do you know where you’re going. And I said yes to the tees. Maybe the blue but probably the white (the closest ones) he said “definitely the white” in a snobby sarcastic tone. I don’t understand why we were treated with such disdain when we were being perfectly polite and friendly to him. It’s really like he took one look at all of us and said they don’t belong here with every word. Several in our group were genuinely shocked and flustered. I was put in golf lessons as a child and have been playing golf intermittently my entire life including at the private club in Florida my grandparents and parents are members of, and I have never been treated like that before. Instead of gently explaining golf course norms they assumed we were going to break the rules before we even started. This is a municipal public course that serves a variety of skill levels. There is never a reason to treat anyone with disrespect but especially at a municipal golf course. It was really shocking and I hope this employee can receive this feedback and speak with more kindness to the customers here. We spent $100+ per couple to golf here today and were treated like we were going to intentionally break rules or screw up their course before we had even hit our first drive.

Three was another guy at the cart stand when we left who was extremely friendly, for which we were all very thankful. He gave us helpful pointers and didn’t act like we were going to mess up his golf course or that we were imposing. Props to that guy and hopefully he can help his colleague learn how to treat human beings with dignity.

The Links At Galloway hosted the 1st Annual VLee Gives Memorial Golf Tournament on July 29th, 2022! The VLee Gives Foundation received participation for 21...4 man teams! The Links were gracious hosts! This is a beautiful picturesque property with wonderful customer service! The Foundation provided breakfasts, lunch, cold beverage carts full of ice cold water, gatorade, and beer for the 18 hole course! The event wasn't complete without an award recognition ceremony for our players! There were golf carts everywhere! If you missed it, you've gotta be there at the next annual event!! Here's to Vincent Bernard Lee's legacy! Thank you Galloway for making this a most memorable occassion!

The course itself was very beautiful, however we had a terrible experience before we could even make it on the course. My party understood the rules and etiquette of golf and were excited to enjoy our time together, but before we could even make it to hole one an employee berated us about the size of our party and how we could not play as a group which we already knew before hand as this was not our first time playing. He said if he caught us as a group of 6 he would have to come back and “be mean to us”. Mind you this happened several times before any of us even had the opportunity to play and every time we all verbally agreed that we would separate our party. Love greens, but terrible costumes service.
