This historic boatyard & marina in Jacksonville Florida is a “Must See” if passing through. Large travel lift for haul-out, skilled trade to support needed repair. Hurricane hole safety and common sense business practice can provide peace of mind. Owners On-site and available. This is a business, not a free-for-all, hourly rates are reasonable, goods & services supplied. I don’t work for free and the capable skilled trade at Lamb’s doesn’t either. This process ensures they will be operational for years to come. If the docks could talk they would share a history of the many Captains & Owners who knew how to do it better.
For this Captain, I’ll recommend the fine folks at Lamb’s to handle survey short-hauls to full service and repair. Be sure to call ahead, have your insurance paperwork in order and get in the Que.

The most professional and personable marina I've dealt with. I keep my 55ft classic yacht here and they stay on top of everything. I'm especially grateful to how attentive they are when big storms come rolling thru. I've recommended them to several friends who have had work done on their yachts...and they also have about the exceptional care they've received. 5 stars every time!

The worst possible experience EVER!!! Being a Navy Veteran I understand that not everyone is as keen to detail however this was just laziness, discrimination and out right disrespect. Brought a 2004 Regal in and was quoted a price of 2800 for an ignition module, ignition coil, and wire harness replacement. After agreeing to the price I was told I need to bring 1000 deposit. After arriving to give the deposit was told their system was down and couldn’t take it. Later Hunter called me back and stated they found rot in the transom and it would be additional 7k to do. I declined to have it done but told them to do the other work. I was then called again by Hunter that they would not do the work because I declined the transom work.

Finally I was quoted a price of 185 for whatever work they did do and told to get my boat.

Well I finally got the boat back it was a complete nut job! The entire harness was disconnected , alternator is everything in the engine bay.. look at the pictures.

If you have a Volvo Penta, and you are NOT CAUCASIAN do not take your boat there to get serviced!

We had 3 maintenance issues; 2 of them complex. All resolved in less than 2 days. Highly recommend!

Extremely unprofessional, customer satisfaction at the bottom of their list as a business. Decided to take our boat for service (prop shaft seal leak). The service manager Richard Addison contacted us to let us know that unfortunately they were unable to remove the bearing carrier in order to remove and replace the seal, he then followed by saying that they could try another route that had a 50/50 chance of “destroying the carrier or the gear housing” to what we obviously asked not to proceed and that we would pick up the boat instead. After being charged $220.00 for not repairing the issue, upon inspection, we were amazed to find that they, without authorization from us, tried to remove the seal by what seams forced methods. Resulting in damages that are now beyond a simple procedure to replace such seal. After contacting them to request to at least finish what they started, the manager refused to take the boat back and stated they would not do business with us. The lack of professionalism and customer service is overwhelming. The pics show the condition they received the boat and the condition and damage they caused. At this point we are fearful that we will have to replace the entire lower unit.

Lamb’s Yacht Center

A strong recommendation for Lamb’s Yacht Center on the Ortega River in Jacksonville FL.
While staying at neighboring Port 32 Marina, we found that one of our 18,000 BTU Dometic Emerald split system air conditioners had a LPF (Low Pressure Fault). This was really inconvenient for us, as we were about to leave towards the Bahamas. I called Lamb’s on the afternoon of Tuesday March 5th, looking for service is ASAP as we were anxious to get to the Bahamas and then back north of Florida before June 1st to comply with our hurricane insurance restriction. I spoke with the service manager Alex, and he needed to see what he could do with his scheduling for us. He said that he would call me the next day, and if I didn’t hear from him by noon to call him. To my surprise he was calling me at 9:30am - already a good start to have someone call back as promised. He said that he could accommodate us on Monday. That seems to be a pretty darn good response in these crazy service times. Upon the evaluation on Monday the problem was worse than expected and the compressor needed to be removed to braise a cracked line. The compressor was back in the boat and running by the end of the day. Rather than calling it done and sending us on our way the plan was to wait until Tuesday morning to be sure that everything remained correct. We stayed on the boat at Lamb’s and used their nice showers. Unfortunately on Tuesday morning we found that the braise failed and the repair process needed to be repeated. This time they kept the compressor on the bench overnight while pressurized to 175 psi. With everything good on Wednesday morning the compressor was installed on the boat and system recharged again. With it running well again, we all agreed that it was a good idea to cycle it as much as possible between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning to build 100% confidence. Again Lamb’s was good with us staying on their service pier overnight.
Our overall experience was great. Our tech Josh has the skills and all necessary tools for a professional repair. Alex and Josh were friendly and professional throughout the process. In the end Lamb’s stood behind their work and we were very pleased with our bill. Lamb’s is an old school full service yard that seems to be capable of any service at a truly professional level. They are stacked with certified technicians (see photos). EVERYONE working there is polite and genuinely happy to be there.
A first class marine service center.
It was a great find!
