A pleasant surprise was a chilly day at Hesperia Golf & Country Club. This was the second time we played and we were very surprised it wasn't busier. This course was in good shape and the staff was wonderful.

Staff in the pro shop is fantastic. Very fun course, with fairly wide open fairways. Well placed bunkers, but the bunker sand is rock hard. Greens are in good shape, but there are a decent amount of divots that people are not fixing.

Course was great because I didn't hit in a bunker. Worst part was the starter told us 2 groups of 4 (local men's club) were going out in front of us and they were slow. We asked to go ahead of them to no avail. Golf took 5 hours. The group would not let us pass. No Marshall ever appeared. You would figure men's club would have etiquette. This course was one and done.

Not a bad course. I wouldn't pay more the $30-$40 to golf it. Greens are in decent shape, fairways need love, and the bunkers are more dirt than sand. Overall pretty fun though.

Ty Hill (Tysen)

They close early regardless if the sun is out or not and regardless to what it says on the website. They seem to have random days in which they close the driving range for no rhyme or reason. Seems like every time we come here it's always something that stops us from being able to play on this course when you actually can play. It's quite nice

This course was half the price of everyone else in the area following Christmas. Everywhere else had double their prices but they did not.

The course was very busy but what do you expect on the week of Christmas?

Green were in great shape although the course overall wasn't up to quite the same standards. However overall for the time of year it was better than expected and for the price I couldn't give anything but five stars.

Should be the premiere course in the high desert, however it’s not. 7 years ago we had 12 players playing there twice a week. Now we have 3-4 playing once a week. Poorly maintained, broken sprinkler system leaves dry patches in the fairways and on the greens and stagnant puddles throughout. Dozen upon dozens of ground squirrels digging holes in the fairways and bunkers. Roughs are not consistently cut, greens are not well taken care of. Getting punched maybe once a year and seldom rolled. The city Recreation department does a terrible job of maintenance.
In all fairness to the employees, the maintenance team is way understaffed, maybe three part time workers where there should be three times that number working full time and pro shop workers are top notch. The real issue is that the city/Recreation Department either doesn’t know how, or doesn’t care to, run the course properly.
