Gulf View Motel - Mexico Beach, Florida

We evacuated to the Gulf view motel during hurricane Milton. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Charles is. He was so welcoming and helpful not only to us but to all the guests present. The hotel felt sturdy and safe. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. We appreciated how laid-back the atmosphere was, with people and dogs and kids allowed to just relax. The beach view is beautiful, and directly across the street:a short easy walk. There were outdoor seating areas, and bench swings with a view of the water. Our room had a kitchenette, a table for sitting to eat, and comfortable beds. Everything was extremely clean. This will be our go-to hotel for both evacuation and hopefully, just laid back vacations. I highly recommend Gulf View Motel.

What a great motel! Clean, quiet and spacious. Soooo laid back. Fantastic service and stunning sunsets! And, of course, the kitties. I would highly recommend and we will be staying there again. (and again, and again)

We just came back from staying here. We got married on tuesday, drove down on weds, we were staying here for our honeymoon and Thunder beach motorcycle rally.. we decided to stay in mexico beach to avoid the noise and nightly comotion in and around pcb. We got to the motel late evening, charles"chuck" as the l9cals know him, was very friendly. He took us up to see our room 1st thing. We were pleasantly surprised our room 12 was in the middle on top. Great view of the beach and water right from our balcony. Pix posted. Room was larger than exspected and very neat and well maintained. Everything was new "due to rebuild" after micheal. Kitchenette fully stocked with dishes and cookware. Full size fridge. Very comfy beds too. Large shower lots of hot water. We stayed till sunday morning. It was only 30ish miles from pcb so we just rode the scoot everyday when ever we went somewhere. I will say this we will be staying with charles again in the future. Well maintained place. A 3 minute walk from the room to the beach, outside showers, a little covered setting area out side on the corner with 2 large swings to enjoy the evening sunshine and sunset. Onsite laundry with new equipment and free.. cant beat free.. You wont be dissapionted with your stay here. Until next time charles. Sincerely the McClures 2024.

Great view, very clean and new rooms, great service, good price!
The owner was very welcoming and accommodating. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in his motel. The rooms are spacious recently furnished with modern furnishings. The bed and bedding are extremely comfortable.
The bathroom was by far the largest and the nicest I’ve ever experienced in a mom and pop motel. There’s an amazing view of the beach, which is just across the street. Everything here was perfect and it was a great value for the price.
I noticed a few comments from other people mentioning this location not being convenient to stores. On the contrary, Mexico Beach is known for being a small relaxing beach community. It is not known for its shopping Mecca but if you need a grocery store, it’s only 12 minutes down the road. Other than that, this motel is a short one to three minute drive to various food venues and gas stations/convenience stores that you can also easily walk to as you stroll along the beach side.
I will definitely stay here again when I’m in this area

Very nice rooms clean with nice balcony. Outside area going upstairs was overwhelming with lots of cat poo. Overrun with cats. If they get rid of them I would definitely go back.

This place is amazing. Footsteps away from beach with excellent rates. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this is by far one of the best. The rooms were spotless and it's was quiet. Will definitely be back!!!

We don’t stay in many motels. Just came off of three 5 star hotel stays in Bryan/College Station, San Antonio & Houston, Texas.

But this motel was new, clean and well kept. Bring amenities you may need. A box of Kleenex in room would be a nice addition and leave an extra roll of toilet paper. I usually take these items on car travel so I had them, along with a roll of paper towels. Cute decor. They allow small dogs, which we always appreciate. But our dog is very well behaved. We had a private balcony with gorgeous Gulf view. Would stay again, but I’d bring snacks and easy things to make for meals. This area does not have many restaurants. Mostly food trucks with picnic tables for seating. Any food trucks are just not our thing and I always worry about cleanliness and sanitation. Do recommend Shipwreck Raw Bar as a dining option. Yesterday, we had the best crab cake Benedict for breakfast we’ve ever had - it was all crab and fresh! We also tried Mango Marley’s and lunch was $80 and my husband just had a cheeseburger and I had a side salad and appetizer. Shrimp appetizer overcooked and rubbery. We also split an order of 10 wings.

Beach access is right across the road from Gulfview Motel. Beach is gorgeous. We brought our own beach chairs & umbrella. Hotel owner when we booked, said don’t do that, just buy chairs and umbrella locally and the toss when done. One cheap small umbrella was $30 at local store. Being your own!

Recommend motel, but come prepared if staying longer than we did. Owner not always available right away if you need fresh towels etc. It’s a beach town, so you have to get into that state of mind here.
