Really enjoyable golf round through their "member for a day" deal with Golf Now.

Fantastic practice facilities and staff.

As for the course... Fairways, greens, bunkers, and layout were great. That day the greens were running a little slow, but they rolled true. A couple barren spots on a few fairways, but that was rare.

Tee boxes were the only sub-par aspect. Was strange how on driver holes the tee boxes were sandy. Par 3s weren't too bad.

They are doing quite a bit of work around the course. Saw plenty of new sod throughout, so my guess is that the tee boxes will be back to tip top shape soon enough.

Will be back and would definitely recommend.

We had an amazing experience at the governors country club, it was booked for a private work event and the bartenders madison specifically but also amanda were absolutely phenomenal and made the night so fantastic. Madison was such a lovely person and I wish I had more cash to tip, although there was no dollar amount that could equivocate to the quality of service she provided .

They have a beautiful, expansive, clubhouse but was disappointed the breakfast did not start until 11 am. It didn’t seem like there was any place to grab chips or a breakfast sandwich either (we played at 10 am). The course was in beautiful shape for October I definitely hope to play again.

We recently moved to Governors Towne Club and engaged in our first dining experience tonight. The staff were friendly, enthusiastic, polished and eager to please. I would also like to complement the Chef on the quality, flavor and presentation of the meal. I started with a perfect cocktail, followed by the Sea Scallops appetizer which I truly enjoyed (don’t miss trying this one). The Wedge Salad was fresh, crisp and nothing short of excellent. For my entree, I indulged in the 14 oz Delmonico Ribeye that was cooked exactly as ordered and with mouthwatering flavor. My wife ordered the Salmon and described her meal as excellent. If I could select 10 Stars, I would. The Governors Towne Club dining team earned my vote!! We look forward to our next visit. Kudos to Miranda and Nick for making it a great evening!

PART 1: From a COVID Bride: 9/26/21

This review is long overdue. I had the privilege of having my rehearsal dinner and wedding at one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Southeast, Governors Towne Club.

From the moment of my first tour, I was brought to tears by the space. Entering the grand ballroom, this place exuberates elegance and class. The first person I came into contact with at the venue was Amanda. She is the Director of Weddings and Events and has had years of experience in the events/wedding industry. Not only is Amanda an expert at her craft, she cares about her brides. I was planning our wedding 18 months ahead, then COVID hit. She kept me up to date with policies and venue development. In Facebook bridal groups and amongst my friends, I hear about horror stories of venue coordinators that are horrible. I would look at those posts and feel so bad that other brides do not have someone like Amanda in their corner. I toured three other prestigious courses in the area and nothing held a candle to Governors Towne Club. As my wedding planner said the moment she saw the venue, “It is the best country club venue I have ever seen, down to the attention to décor details”.

The week before the wedding, I had an unfortunate event occur with my mother in regards to the financial aspect of the event. I won’t get into details because it was extremely hurtful, but my wedding planner and Mother-in-Law let Amanda know what was going on. Not only did Amanda and her team figure out a solution, but they let me know to not worry about one thing that everything was under control and would be ok. The days leading up to the wedding, Amanda was only worried about me. They asked me what my boundaries were and she made it clear to everyone on the team to keep an eye out for me. Amanda checked on me multiple times throughout the night of the rehearsal dinner and continuously on the wedding day. When I tell you things were going sideways real quick, they could have, but Amanda literally saved my wedding day. Right before I got engaged, I lost my father and a few years before that I lost my big sister. Amanda knew I was worried about the emotional aspect of the day, I will never forget her kindness and grace she showed me throughout this entire planning experience. She will forever be engrained in my heart and a lifelong friend. Amanda, I love you so much!

Maelee is another person I will never forget at GTC. She is the Food and Beverage Manager. Not only does she manage an excellent team, you can tell everyone in the Food/Beverage department at GTC has a solid team feel to them, and I credit that to her. Maelee made sure I never went hungry, and most importantly, never ran out of my favorite wine! Like a lot of brides, I wanted two signature cocktails and an open bar. They made sure my entire beverage list was fully stocked and put emphasis on my signature cocktails. For our plated menu, I had a dream of recreating our first date meal (filet and seabass) that we had at Blue Ridge Grill back in 2015. Maelee and her team made it happen. Maelee also was a point person, along with Amanda, that made sure our night was everything we could have ever dreamt of. Thank you so much Maelee, I love you so much!
