Hey, Bryan. Captian Joe (and all crew) are awesome. They are some of the most responsive people and I have been continuously blown away by their gratitude and customer service. Captian Joe has responded to ALL my communication within 5-10 minutes. Your long, but very lackluster soliloquy is not a review Bryan. What you regurgitated, sir, was just a sloppy mess of your subjective recollection of events (which was clearly biased). In my roughly 1-week of membership, I have had multiple last minute requests and they have accommodated each time. For those who can see beyond that poor review left by Brian - this is a club. The crew at FBC (and the owners) are not your personal assistants. They do not cater to your every need, because this isn’t about you. This is about the club and everybody within the the club. Captian Joe honestly has more pressing things to worry about then you crying about having to wait. Things like purchasing more boats, trying to grow the club, and things that serve the members of the club to make our experience better. Not to mention, I feel like that previous review pertaining to Captian Joe and crew is blown out of proportion. To anyone else, FBC is a fantastic place and you’ll love it. The dock staff, literally run around all day and bust their tail. If a crew member is not available they will call, text, or email you very quickly. If you’re going to be super needy, whine, or complain because “your” needs are not met, then you should avoid a social club. If you want to join an amazing club with amazing members and an environment where both the owners (and crew) are easily accessible on a daily basis...then FBC is for you.

My husband and I have been members for about a year and it’s one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. The fleet is very well maintained and all the boats new within the last 3 years. Concierge level customer service! We’ve never had a problem reserving if we just shop the different locations a bit or have some flexibility on choosing a boat. It’s been fun experimenting with the different styles of boats and learning what we like best. They always have the boats clean and ready to go on time, and are happy to help us docking upon return. In addition to the initial training, we’ve completed several specialty trainings at no extra charge. We just set an appointment up with a training captain any time. We are also really impressed with the selection of reciprocal clubs which are easy to book with the updated reservation system. We just went up to the Great Lakes region and there were many locations to choose from. I am pretty shocked by the negative reviews here as we haven’t had a single bad experience and boat several times a month. I think if you have any understanding of the costs to purchase, maintain and dock your own boat, you would be amazed by the value of a club membership.

Perfect day on the water. Kellen was able to help us with a last minute reservation (not easy for an 80 degree weekend in San Diego). Mia and Luke welcomed us and helped us extend our 12pm return to the end of day- the whole staff went above and beyond to create an epic day for our crew- thank you!

My local Freedom boat club is in SW Florida. I had a great time on mission bay with my kids and their friends. The staff at Dana Point was very accommodating and treated me like a local. I also took a boat out on San Diego bay while in town. The ability to check out boats in so many other places than just home is a great feature of the club.

Freedom Boat Club is a great way to enjoy all the fun things of boating without the negatives. If you are good with enjoying the boats they offer and don't want the cost or hassle of buying a boat, storing it and maintaining it, FBC would probably be a very good fit for you. We've been members for a little over a year and really enjoy it. - Kenny

Was awesome until they changed the reservation structure. You used to get three full day reservations, but now they created a Platinum membership and different reservation schedule; it screws regular members with less opportunities to book. Now you get one full day and half day only. I imagine they are going to expand this and continue to play these games and dilute the membership perks. Platinum membership not worth it. Don't fall for it or waste your money.
