Some years ago now, my two children spent many years learning fencing and life skills with Coach Brian Harper. It was an enormously valuable experience for both of them, including regular training here in Gainesville and frequent travel to tournaments at the local, state, and national levels. Coach Harper has the perfect coaching and mentoring style, which blends drive to learn and excel with awareness and respect for others, both team members and opponents. I am very pleased that my two boys had the benefit of Coach Harper's coaching and guidance during their formative years. I simply cannot say enough to fully convey how positive was my children's experience with Coach Harper at the Florida Fencing Academy. I am sure Coach Harper brings the same values to fencing instruction for adults, but my experience was with my children through their middle to late teenage years.

My 6-year old son thoroughly enjoyed this fencing academy. The coaches and class structure provide an incredible atmosphere for learning the sport of fencing including discipline, self control and many other skills necessary for use in everyday life.

The price is remarkable for the value and the facility is clean and spacious. The Friday homeschool class proved a most excellent experience for my son, and the other classes and camps seem likewise.

Coach Brian Harper and his son, Tyler, have superior coaching skills, high integrity, passionate interest in competitive fencing, and extensive experience in the sport. Great learning experience. Brian is a gracious and kind instructor who exemplifies the noble art of fencing. He's also a very talented fencer who's often called upon to judge major fencing competitions throughout the country. Try it for a month, a year or a lifetime, fencing is good fun and as athletic as you want to make it.
