Thrills, chills and NO spills! The show we attended at the center Cirqúé Kalabantè was a beautiful and well-choreographed display of teamwork. The level of coordination, strength, agility, flexibility, fitness was pretty amazing to this moderately fit girl.
Honestly, the center itself is very nice and modern. Even so, as a hearing impaired person I find the acoustics to be poor. I’ve never seen an accommodation available either, which I’d utilize. The shows I’ve attended, which are quite a few in the past 3 years, are surprisingly hit-or-miss. I do like the Upstage concept, where patrons sit on-stage and view the artist(s).

It was an experience and provides a great place for students of the performing arts to practice and gain stage experience. Relatively inexpensive for a day out and to take in some ballet or other plays. The seats are really close together, though; the aisles are very narrow.

UPDATE - 2025 You really need to check out the schedule of shows for the Center.

UPDATE- 2024 starting out awesome. Ricky Smiley, American Spiritual Ensemble, Alex Rodriquez Trio and so much more. Can't wait for FISS.

UPDATE- 02/23. the Center is in full swing. King's Return is simply awesome. Winnie The Pooh. Isaiah Sharkey, MOMIX:Alice and more, so much more.

This is the place everyone should go at least once in your life. There are shows of all genres. Ballet jazz comedy plays country symphony. Check out their upstage events.
Update- COVID protocol in place. Went to hear and see The gainesville Chamber Orchestra. They were most excellent as always. Took the Babaa so she could see how the "little Einstein"music is done. Thanks guys. 🎻

This is such a great facility to both perform and see a show in. The whole building looks beautiful on the inside and the sound acoustics are really good. Parking can be a hassle if you park in the garage, but other than that, I don't have any other complaints about the Phillips Center. I hope to return soon, whether it be as a performer or as an audience member!

Superb halls, the sound engineering is on point.

You can hear the instruments clearly at least on the lower floor without any microphones. No artifacts when listening such as echoes or too much reverb.

Very well designed, easy to exit and enter.

Top notch in almost every way.

The artists who perform are also great, especially if you enjoy classical and instrumental music, theatre or dance performances.

Wonderful time at My Fair Lady. Preperformance discussion was very interesting and gave background on the show and performance was well done. Even though our seats were in the balcony could see everything going on and unobstructed. They do need more restrooms for intermission as the lineups were long! Overall had a great experience and looking forward to seeing more shows in the future.
