Our stay at the Bacara could not have been better. The good times started at the check in when they upgraded our room due to our Gold status. We were shuttled to our room that was right on the water. The view was perfect and we fell asleep each night to the sound of waves lapping against the beach. That
evening we walked down to the beach to watch the sunset.
The next morning I walked up to the coffee shop and got our breakfast of two egg white burritos, yogurt parfaits and cut fruit, delicious.
After our breakfast, which we ate on our private veranda overlooking the ocean, we headed to the pool. The service and the management was amazing. They treat you like family and really make you feel welcome.
All in all our stay was memorable and something we will alway think fondly of. The grounds are maintained beautifully as you would expect. All the staff had smiles on their face whenever they spoke to us. The Bacara is a gem, and should be be on the top of everyone’s list for a wonderful getaway!

I have stayed at this isolated resort many time's over the years since 2015. This semi-resort is huge and please be prepared to do plenty of walking around.. The villa's are rather charming with glass enclosed fire places and the room -service, prior to Covid-19 was top shelf. I haven't been there since last year in 2019. The valet service is a stellar and they treat you like a star.. just don't leave cash lying around in your car. They also can drive you to your room in a golf cart if your NOT up to the long stroll ...the front desk people are always kind. The lobby has a huge fire-place and this place is always clean.. There is a 7-11 and a gas station near , that's on the other side of the 101 freeway.. This is perfect for a honey-moon, vacation or a hide-away from the kid's.. I highly recommend staying here ..

This is the Ritz Carlton Bacara Resort. We stay there often when visiting Santa Barbara. The staff is top notch and when the amenities are open (this visit was during the time of Covid) are amazing. The pool is nothing amazing. It does get crowded. A lot of families are here. This can at times be very distracting from a nice quiet time you may be seeking but it is par for the course (though a bit unusual when you stay at a Ritz). Dining is satisfactory. We used to eat exclusively at the resort but have since ventured off and have found some really amazing restaurants so on this visit we did not dine in. Is it worth all the hype? Yes...kind of. There was a time when the Ritz name meant something more than an average experience. Now (since the Marriott has purchased) it has become a high end hotel and not much more. Sad really. I do remember when those times and miss them dearly. It does take time getting used to . I could not blame them for no turn down service and pool closures...we were aware of this when booking and the price reflected the lack of services. But still there are some things that could have been adjusted. I hate the climb up and down the hill to get to and fro to the room. There is a fleet of trams that should be running day and night to take visitors to their rooms! I was denied extra plates at the cafe with my take out. The noise level outside was distracting. So an average experience. When you expect the Ritz to be an extraordinary. Will I stay again? Of course! When everything is up to full steam and then I will adjust my review accordingly!

unfortunately, overrated and not worth the price. The pool is outdated, towels were stained, but worst of all, you can barely see the ocean, and when you walk to the ocean, it's pretty bad. you don't even have a view of the sunset.

Service, however, was great. so kudos to the staff.

Unique architecture, and very nice room accommodation. The grounds are manucured and kept in great shape. Kid/ family pool plus adult only pool area. Shoreline is rocky unless its low tide.

Beautiful location, stunning views..
Food pretty good, but soda water in a plastic cup for $7.00 is ridiculous..

Cool property and location, but the service and ease of doing business is not 5 star. I'd recommend Ojai Valley Inn over this place.
