Beautiful course, kept in great condition. Greens were rolling fast when I played. Plenty of challenging holes. I really liked the food in the restaurant. Solid cheeseburger with nicely seasoned and crispy French fries. Service was very friendly as well. Can't wait to get back

I've been playing this course since the late 1990's and enjoy the challenge it provides. It'll definitely test your patience and skill! The greens are normally in good shape and fast! The fairways can be challenging, most are moderately wide, with a few dog legs too. There are many hazards to watch for, especially the hidden sand traps! The electric golf carts are in good condition, they got all new one's two years ago I believe. The pro shop has a lot more golf attire for men than they do for women, and not a whole lot of variety. They have a driving range, a small pitching area with a sand trap and putting green for practice. Most of the staff members are friendly and knowledgeable. The golf instructor, Theresa, is good from what I hear. The restaurant (Caddy's) is nice, and open for dinner sometimes. The menu has a limited variety of hot and cold sandwich type food to choose from and the pricing is appropriate. However, the service is hit miss. I like that you can call and order items to go! The orders are usually ready when you arrive to pick-up. There's also a snack bar to grab hot dogs, chips, cold drinks/beer, etc.

Played Friday July 12. Arrived an hour early for a 1039a tee time. Proceeded to hit some practice balls to get loose. Got paired with another two at 1030a.

Conditions are great for middle summer heat wave. Tee boxes were green, fairways green, greens nice. A great day if not got the 107 temps.

However, there wasn't a SINGLE water cooler anywhere on the course. Nothing at all provided and did not see a beverage cart. It isn't required to do so but knowing it's going to be hot and providing excellent customer service are things a golf course should know. I went through 4 water bottles, one soda, and an 32oz iced tea. Thank you Mulligans for the resource you have always been on the course.

Castle Oaks has a number of interesting holes. It’s a course that is best played while riding in a golf cart. A couple of the hills between holes are fairly steep and difficult if you’re walking, particularly on a hot afternoon. The bar and restaurant are frequented by locals, which is always a good sign. People appear come to the restaurant just for the food, even if they aren’t golfing.

Caddy's restaurant is very good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Service is also outstanding. The fried chicken on Fridays was amazing. On Thursdays (4p-8p) they have burgers with fries for $14!
St. Patrick's Day lunch was awesome. The lamb shank was delicious.
