I would say this is a great place for a family with kids who can really take advantage of the pool. The gym is really nice as well. If you're thinking of joining for the pickleball, I wouldn't advise it. You have to get the full membership which is expensive, and they clearly don't promote pickleball much and even look down on pickleball players. I was told that they are "not a pickleball club but a wellness club". And don't confuse Refuge with CVAC. They are attached but separate businesses.

My favorite place to spend time with my family of 5 or just by myself enjoying hot yoga in the evening! Great atmosphere and very peaceful! Excellent service and very clean. If you aren’t the member yet, make sure to sign in!

The perfect place to work out, relax, luxuriate and even grab a quick and drink after all that. Maybe it was just a perfect day, but it really felt great to be there with my daughter, son in law and granddaughter!

Refuge is an amazing place, but the athletic club in general is a really sweet find. Love the free coffee, books, and relaxing after Refuge!

My husband and I went to The Refuge at Carmel Valley Athletic Club. We both had it massages and then we sat in the jacuzzi in the Oasis area. There are cool plunging pools and Hot Jacuzzis with waterfalls cascading. It's so serene and relaxing. We will absolutely be back

Fun place. It has many different temperature pools. Nice staff. You will have to be put on a waiting list No Doubt. Bring flip flops or she's going to be paying like 25 bucks

Things here have changed and not for the better. Maybe I will rewrite my post some time. At this point I just not a happy customer.
Ok, now things have not gotten better actually we decided to leave this place for better places to work out and enjoy.
First of all the original manager and staff new I was extremely allergic and a asthmatic that they can not have a wood fireplace going where the smoke is going in the gym or to the tennis courts. Then they got a new manager and he told them to lite the fire place. The smoke blew into the gym and I ended up in the ER with a full blown asthma attack. A couple days in the hospital to boot.
Now since I canceled my membership they got the wood burning stove going again so I have heard from some of my friends who were thinking of joining but they also got a lung full of smoke and are not happy.
Yes I do have a attitude towards them also want to get compensated for the time I spent in the hospital and the months of recovery I had to deal with for being and asthmatic.
So you want to join this place when they don't care about your health than good luck to you.
