This gym had so much potential but falls very short and.lacks value for what you pay. Pay the extra money and go get a membership @ life time. The towel service was horrible. The staff is lazy and does not engage you at all. The locker rooms and showers are extremely unkept and are in horrible shape. The cancelation policy is inconvenient and overly complicated and I feel like this is done on purpose. I will never consider this company for a gym home.

Bay club formally known as club sport is my gym and I go as many times a week as possible. This is one of the best gyms in Walnut Creek. If not the best and they’re going to go through a complete remodel so we’re excited to see what that’s going to bring all new machines and turf all kinds of nice new equipment the polls beautiful it’s in a Marriott hotel so you have a restaurant you have a spa and you have a small store alongside the hotel. I would recommend this gym if anyone would want to ask me any questions let me know.

The management of this gym should be immediately dismissed. It's clear they have failed miserably in providing even the most basic standards of service and upkeep. Despite charging exorbitant membership fees, the experience here is consistently disappointing and frustrating.

Let's start with the recent changes, like their new parking policy that limits parking to 3 hours and requires payment afterward. It's absurd to expect members to rush through their workouts or face additional charges just because they want to spend more time improving their health. Management should at least consider extending the free parking hours for members to 5 hours.

Finding a towel at this gym is like searching for a needle in a haystack. There are NONE readily available in the locker rooms, forcing members to approach the front desk every time they need one. It's absurd!!

The equipment is a disaster waiting to happen—machines are frequently out of order or malfunctioning, posing serious safety risks to users.

Adding insult to injury, the showers are a disaster. Several showers are consistently closed due to drainage problems. Women are left to balance their hygiene products on filthy floors and shower doors because there are no shelves in the shower cabins. It would be a minimal expense for the gym to install shelves, yet they have neglected this basic necessity. It's clear that management prioritizes cutting costs over ensuring a sanitary and comfortable environment for its paying members.

In comparison to other Bay club gyms this facility falls embarrassingly short.
The management of this gym should be deeply ashamed of the subpar experience they provide to their members. It's unacceptable to charge premium rates while neglecting basic amenities and maintenance. I strongly advise potential members to look elsewhere for a gym that values their investment and prioritizes member satisfaction.

I re-activated my membership in May 2024 after 10 years since my wife encouraged me to do join with her. I had fond memories of club sport (as it was known at the time) being a relatively nice gym and so I was happy to join.

I was disappointed to see the locker rooms still looked like they did 10 years ago, except now it was worn out and the smell of feet fills the air. What’s worse is they had signs up stating that they were “renovating” the locker rooms. I have yet to notice what they changed exactly.

Most of the staff seem like they’re still in grade school and unfortunately their conceited and generally unfriendly and standoffish attitude is a huge disappointment. Just reeks of entitlement.

Positives, and perhaps the reasons why it is not a 1-star rating includes the parking garage, which is really decent and close by, and also the pool areas, which are spacious and besides the occasional kid swimming across your lane, is a great environment and place to work out and relax.

Bay Club does not give fair and equitable time for court usage.with their 3 courts. In fact they give preferential treatment to their basketball players. Basketball has 78.5 total hours of court time a week, Volleyball has 13 hours a week and Pickleball has 19 hours a week. Included in our 19 hours a week are clinics that you need to pay extra $$$ for, 1 hour private lessons with NON Members and a Pro from Moraga County Club that take 1 of our 3 courts on a Friday afternoon (the busiest PB day of the week) Today there were 12 people waiting for 2 courts because of the private lesson, also. Children. with no age limit can play PB, as long as accompanied by an adult, just during PB (despite the rest of the gym, basketball and volleyball being 12 or 13 and over) also a Futsal tournament last weekend. So our PB hours get greatly reduced by all of these extras. Despite several requests through email to the managers to come to some sort of a more fair arrangement, have been ignored. We were told that the basketball players will always have most of the time because they have been playing here for a long time and they told us if we want to play more PB then we should join Crow Canyon (pay more) and drive to San Ramon. Wait, WHAT? The last time I checked, my dollar was the same color as the basketball players yet they dominate with 71% of the court time.
Bay club obviously does not have a DEI program!
How is this fair and equitable?
IT’S NOT!
I will add a filthy jacuzzi despite 3 days in a row of reporting it.
Never any towels in locker room. I have taken all my clothes off several times to find no towels for me to shower with and a sign that says to go to the front desk to get towels. Huh? I’m naked.
Disgusting hair in drains all the time and staff just does their walk through ms and managers never does anything about it.
Just getting so fed up with paying so much money for this gym and getting a crappy customer experience.
Consider joining another gym!

It is indeed a state-of-the-art club; but every time there's a renovation/remodeling, big or small, the membership fees go up!!. Also, sometimes, it is too crowded, especially in the summertime with kids around, often I feel like I am in a daycare center; there are kids all over running from women's lockers to the swimming pools; sometimes members are disrespectful to each other if you bring their attention to what their kids do. Another problem is that the club is adjacent to a hotel, whose guests are not aware of the rules and regulations, and it is hard to closely supervise the hot tub and recreation area. For instance, youngsters are in the hot tub, and/or adults talk nonstop, or enter the steam room fully dressed. It is hard to relax, indeed. There are rules and regulations, but not enforced closely; the club needs to pay close attention to quality not only quantity.
Note, I have brought up my concerns with the Bay Club employees from time to time.

Membered here for the what we thought were great amenities and childcare but really it was a nightmare. Childcare was a horrible experience. Mixed my little one who could barely walk at the time with kids running around. He could have been stepped on. Drop off codes didn’t work for the first 2 weeks which was a hassle. Probably more ideal for older kids who are more independent.

As for the gym, I was charged a package for classes without my consent when I was only inquiring about the prices. Also didn’t let me know that I have to use it within the month or you lose it. Never got my refund for it after many back and forth with Joey and corporate.

I recently visited Bay Club Walnut Creek, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The service was lackluster, to say the least. The staff seemed indifferent and unhelpful, with a general lack of enthusiasm or courtesy. There was no effort to make members feel welcome or valued, which was quite disappointing for a club of this supposed caliber.

Moreover, the cleanliness of the club was appalling. The facilities were poorly maintained, with dirty floors and unclean equipment. The locker rooms were particularly unpleasant, with overflowing trash bins and unsanitary conditions. It's clear that proper hygiene and maintenance are not priorities at this club.

Overall, the combination of subpar service and inadequate cleaning standards made my visit very unpleasant. I expected much better from Bay Club Walnut Creek and will not be returning. I would not recommend this club to anyone seeking a quality gym experience.
