What a fun place! Penny was great, our food was delicious and the beers were cold!

Food was bland and my beer wasn’t even cold. Food was not worth the price they were asking. The mini tacos had like no feeling in them. Like no cheese at all on the pizza burger. My bacon on my BLT was rock hard. Server acted like I owed her a tip when I didn’t. I usually tip very well usually 10 bucks but not here. Only thing that tasted semi decent was the Mac and cheese bites. Definitely won’t return anytime soon

Great hangout for locals and those traveling by as well! Always some interesting stories being swapped between the regulars and those coming to enjoy the historic Sutliff Bridge and views of the Cedar River.

Can't wait to come back!
Great food. Great service. Great entertainment. Great scenery.
You literally can't top this!
And in the middle of nowhere.
Try the tenderloin. You won't regret it.
If you're coming for an outside band, bring a lawn chair, you can sit in the lawn!!
Its also right in the sun until sunset. Dress accordingly.
Sunblock if you need it.

I was at Baxa's to pick up my son and brother, who were kayaking. I ordered a sandwich and fries, fine but not super impressive. I hear the fried catfish is great, and next time, I'll get that. But the owners, who are staffing, were friendly and helpful. Their kids were outside catching tree frogs, and locals were rubbing elbows with the bikers, cyclists, and other folks enjoying the summer day. Dollar bills cover the ceiling, and the porch has seating, so you can watch the river. The bridge across the street reportedly floated away in a flood but was fetched and put back. I was there on a day when there was a tractor ride. One side of the road was all about the motorcycles, and the other was classic tractors. So, on the Midwest atmosphere, Baxa's checks every box.

We've been here many times and are never disappointed with the food. I will forewarn you if you come on a busy night you do wait a while for your food so we suggest ordering an appetizer. The staff is always friendly. The Baxa Burger is one of our favorite go to items. The jumbo tenderloin is as big as the plate and is not overly breaded and has great flavor; it could feed two people. Thursday night special is chicken fried chicken or chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans and is super delicious. This place only takes cash or check (no credit or debit cards) but there is an ATM machine there for your convenience.

Great place to eat. Great food and top of the line service. We had options, eat inside or outside. It was an awesome experience and we will definitely be back!
