I am 66 years old and joined The Athlete Factory in February 2023. My reason for doing so was because my mother is in assisted living and uses a rollator to get around. Her generation was not proactive with their health and I was determined not to follow that lifestyle.

When I saw the ad on Facebook for 1 free week, I thought, I had nothing to lose. That week is what hooked me and I have never looked back.

So here I went on my journey to weight training. I knew I needed someone to push and hold me accountable or training would be short-lived. Personnel training is what I needed. When you're paying for a trainer, you don’t miss a session. Judy Dubois is my trainer who challenges and encourages me and I don’t know what I would do without her. I have also have had Kevin Cleary, the equally tough owner (I say this with a smile on my face) oversee my training at times. Without them, I would not have continued for over a year. This is a small friendly gym, where you know everyone and support one another. In the past year, I have lost 14 lbs., improved my body composition and balance, gained strength and built muscle.

Call me crazy, but I enjoy working out three times a week and don’t like to miss a session.

A small, intimate gym is the way to go. Nice people to work out with, a great personnel trainer and the owner, Kevin Cleary, the nicest, most personable man you could meet who believes in everyone’s success.

50 something female... Not an athlete, nor experienced in physical exercise.

Realizing I was getting closer and closer to retirement, wanting to be able to travel was and actively play with future grandkids, and feeling soft in the middle, I began searching for a place to learn functional exercise and gain confidence in building strength and balance in an environment that offered education, encouragement and personalized training. I stumbled upon Coach Cleary and the Athlete Factory when searching options in the area. 3 weeks in and couldn't be more pleased with my find!

The Athlete Factory offers me the small group personalized training I need and straight forward instruction both in the app and in person. Can't wait to see the results after my 6 week intro sessions are complete.

Today I completed by 30th workout at The Athlete Factory in Newtown!

As someone who has struggled with back injuries and more, and most recently with my broken foot. I found that I was afraid to do so many things. Always holding back and being careful.

In the last 11 weeks I have gained strength and stability, but most importantly confidence! I've always loved a hard workout, and Coach Kevin creates awesome plans that challenge me, keep me engaged and excited to come back.

I love the atmosphere and camaraderie. The coaches all make sure you are using correct form and challenging yourself appropriately. It is exactly what I needed!!

My wife and I recently joined Athlete Factory a few months ago and we are thoroughly enjoying our experience. Being in our 60+, and retired, we find the place and the coaches to be very professional and very attentive to our needs/pace and allow us to do our best without pushing......while at the same time challenging us to do better everyday. We only wish we should have joined a lot sooner. Their pricing plans and online scheduling app gives us the flexibility to plan the sessions when convenient, without impacting our travel plans......as we do travel a lot :-). It is a great place and we love it !

I was A little skeptical at first did not want to go to a gym where people were built up on steroids and showing off. This is absolutely not what I found. It’s a kind, supportive, happy environment where everyone just wants to be healthier and live a better quality of life while here. Kevin has been very gentle and kind and I’ve seen big differences in myself and feel wonderful. I highly highly recommend.

After a 25-year hiatus, I recently returned to horseback riding with the goal of becoming a competitive dressage rider. Because I have osteopenia which affects bone porosity and strength and makes fractures possible, my doctor is against this pursuit. Strength training is, however, a proven means to combating osteopenia. Under Kevin’s expert guidance, in less than a year, my bone density has improved significantly. That fact, along with my ever-increasing strength and stamina has made me a more effective and confidant competitor.

As a coach, Kevin is demanding, yet unlike many trainers I’ve known, Kevin has been not only genuinely supportive of my goals, but also wholly respectful of my limitations. I always feel safe with him.

A devoted father, accomplished musician and talented writer, Kevin’s many interests make working out with him, not just a task, but a pleasure. His gym is well-organized and immaculate. Although I mostly train with Kevin, I’ve also had numerous opportunities to interact with his staff. They are all equally personable and caring.

Coach Cleary’s passion for, and knowledge of, the history and practice of fitness training is quite simply unmatched.

I’ve been training with both Kevin and Suzanne for about 6 months and I haven’t felt this strong and this good about myself in years! They are committed to helping you achieve your goals and do it in a fun and non-intimidating way... yet keep you accountable. When I first came to the Athletic Factory, I struggled with pain in my shoulder. Both Kevin and Suzanne were able to build a workout around this injury which allowed me to safely strengthen my shoulder and I no longer have any pain. I really enjoy the small group atmosphere, it’s the best of both worlds I get personalized/individual attention but I’m doing it with friends who motive and cheer me on. I look forward to those 3 days/week and I NEVER said that about going to the gym, lol! I can’t say enough about the Athletic Factory. Kevin really knows his stuff!
