This is a great school for kids and adults to learn discipline, self-confidence, and loyalty. My son started PMA when he was 3 and he is almost 6. We've enjoyed watching him grown both physically and mentally and we are so thankful Master Church and his staff have had a hand in it along the way!

As someone who works there, I've also enjoyed seeing the growth of other children. When they walk in the door on the first day, most are shy with little confidence. But as time goes on and the continue to come to class, I see their personality blossom and their confidence and self worth rise! It's truly amazing and an honor for myself to be apart of that!

My girls have been taking classes here for a couple months now and I couldn’t be happier with our experience. When we first arrived, my oldest cried and refused to step foot on the mat. She has gained so much confidence in the past few months that she is now unafraid to stand in the front, to be the first to try, and most importantly for her, to fail, but then to try again. Her sister is learning to listen, which in my opinion is worth every penny I spend and quite possibly more. Every single instructor has been exceptional. They are patient, compassionate, and always intentional. They critique with humor and do not shut the students down, but instead work to guide them toward correction. Classes are small and every student gets one-on-one time with the instructors. The scheduling is flexible and allows parents the opportunity to adjust on a daily basis. I don’t feel stressed having to take my girls to class on a day that turns out not to be convenient, simply because I don’t want them to miss out on something we’ve paid for. My daughters are building confidence, practicing discipline, and learning respect for others and for themselves - lessons that will undoubtedly help them to become strong women, and what’s more - good people.

I have known Master Mitchell Church for 30 years. I have known many martial arts instructors but Master Church is by far the best! He has dedicated his entire life to the martial arts and to his students. He promotes the essential qualities that truly shape a person's character. Attributes such as Integrity, Honor, Respect, Loyalty, Humility and Courtesy to all. I have achieved the rank of Sixth Degree Black Belt and have won 17 World Championship titles. None of this would have been achieved without the instruction of Master Church. He is widely respected throughout the United States for his character and his abilities as a Chief Instructor. Master Church is gifted at introducing people to aspects of themselves that they might not even know they had and showing them how to achieve mental and physical accomplishments that might not have been achieved otherwise. He and his instructors are very good with students of all ages. I could go on and on. This is a martial arts school that can be trusted!

Excellent place to learn discipline, respect and other vital life skills. I cannot say enough positive things about Master Mitchell Church and the rest of his wonderful staff. We have been part of his ATA family for over 8 years and our boys have learned and progressed so much. Every child is treated as an individual and pushed to be the best martial artist possible. ATA - Performance Martial Arts is by far the best martial arts school in Valdosta, or the surrounding area for that matter. Myself and my two children have been attending ATA under the instruction of Master Church for the past several years. All martial arts require hard work, dedication, and discipline and any school can teach you how to punch or kick, what sets PMA apart from the others is the personal attention and instruction provided by Master Church and his son, Mr. Church. I can attest that PMA has helped me form a much stronger bond with my children, something that most other activities can't provide. Master Church is always willing to help and seeks to instill discipline and self-confidence in all of his students, both children and adults alike. Some have asked if you just basically "buy" your belts here, the answer is no. They have to be earned, and earn them you do. I have seen students either not pass testing or not even be allowed to test because they were not prepared for it. It is certainly unfair to believe that any student is merely given a higher rank here at PMA. These belts are earned by coming to class, giving their all, and practicing countless hours at home. So, at PMA, when you or your child advancing a rank, be proud, because this was earned with sweat and dedication, not by buying it. Also, like everything else in life, you get what you pay for. You may, and I stress may, be able to find cheaper schools somewhere else, but you will not get the level of dedication from the instructors that you do here at PMA. All that being said, call Master Church and set up a class for you and your family, you will NOT be sorry that you did!

My son has been a member for several years progressing thru the various belt colors to 2nd degree black belt. Parents are always nice and courteous encouraging all kids on their personal journey. The instructors Master Church and his son are great with the kids to include teaching leadership and discipline. GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE!!

We love it! My daughter has been doing it for 2 years and she just tested for her black belt. The structure, discipline, and confidence they instill is amazing. I love the fact that if your acting out at home or school, and/or not doing good in school they do not allow you to test. We couldn’t ask for a better ATA family! ❤️
