This place is unbelievable! Not one negative thing to say about the course. If you think the pictures are pretty, wait till you see it in person. The grounds are kept well and the staff was so kind to give us pointers. What makes this place special is that it's family owned and operated. We can't wait to return.

Thanksgiving eve, the weather was perfect after a week of constant rain, so I drove up from San Francisco on a whim. No reservation. Green fee includes a course guide. Canned beers are available at the restaurant. Walked up with my pull cart and got paired up with a friendly two-some who just picked up golf in 2024. Teed off at 3pm and was just too dark to complete the 9th hole at 5:15pm.

Really enjoyed walking the course here, but it is narrow. Only one hole where I hit driver, #9, and I hit it left OB, but found my ball and played my provisional with 2 stroke penalty. Hit my 5 wood once on #6. Maybe next time I will leave the woods at home and just bring irons and putter.

I teed off using my 4 iron most of the day trying to draw or fade as necessary and keep the ball low and under the forest canopy. I saw a few balls that had become stuck in the tree branches above. The heavens must rain golf balls when it’s windy there.

#4 hole dogleg right requires a slight fade 200-220 to make the dogleg and get in good position for your second shot.

Only my first time playing, but I distinctly remember each of the nine holes already. Can’t wait to go back again.

Don’t let these negative reviews even sniff your conscious. The staff was absurdly friendly and enjoyable to be around. We experienced amazing service from the restaurant to the golf course. The three of us spent the whole day at Northwood and it was perfect. Maybe I’m just sucker for a small town feel, but this place provides. Kindness, hospitality, and don’t forget world-class golf.

Northwood is a must hit for anyone, whether you can appreciate it as a golf course masterpiece, or just a phenomenal hike through the redwoods. 10 stars if I could.

I came for the views while my husband golfed. This course was absolutely stunning. Being on the course amongst giant redwoods was an unreal experience. We got there early and caught the mist rising from the course. If you are a golfer in the area, this is course is a must.

Honestly a once in a lifetime golf experience. Playing a round surrounded by hundreds of breathtaking redwood trees is something I will never forget. The course was in pristine shape and each hole offers something unique. Unforgettable day and guarantee I will be back. The bar and staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and made every effort to ensure a memorable visit. I accidentally left a jacket there while visiting and they took it upon themselves to reach out and send it back to me free of charge. 10/10 best course in the US.

I have been wanting to play here since 2019. Finally got around to it and being up in the redwoods was amazing. The greens are not well maintained of but that didn't matter to me. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and the next time I'm in the area I won't hesitate to play again! Best 9 hole course I've played yet.
