Train Children Chess Academy is a great way to engage kids minds to think strategically. It’s my daughter’s favorite class where the founder, Josh and his assistants, make learning fun! Part of the fun is pizza Friday, prizes (including your very own chess board to take home) and tournaments! As an elementary school teacher, I am very impressed with how knowledgeable our 6 year old has become! Chess is now a family game that we all can all play!

My 5-year old grandson participated in 2 after school Chess Club sessions during the school year then he went to the one-week summer camp in July. Train Children Chess Academy is a wonderful program engaging young children not only in learning chess, but lifelong skills. It teaches them critical thinking, concentration, problem- solving, and helps develop social skills. As a retired special education teacher, I can see how this program can help children with different learning styles and academic challenges. Josh and his team know how to engage children of all ability levels and coach them accordingly. We will continue to participate in this program throughout the school year when it's offered at our school.

My 5 year old learned chess in just 6 weeks! An after school program once a week was all it took. The critical thinking, patience and problem solving skills he’s shown in the last 3 months of playing chess is amazing. This chess academy is the best out there and their prices are unbeatable. They are really doing the work to keep the game alive in this iPad world, teaching in communities all over the county and more. This last tournament was a lot of fun for the kids giving them breaks, feeding them and rewarding all children win or lose at the end with a medal and ice cream.

Josh and his team are the perfect mix of fun and educational. My son looks forward to every flyer we receive whether it’s after school chess club, chess tournament, or summer chess camp. We attend them all and it never disappoints! Don’t hesitate to sign your son/daughter up for one of their programs. My son’s confidence and skill level have vastly improved. Josh’s program is unlike all other curricular activities. He has so many extra giveaways such as chess sets, toys, hats, shaved ice, trophies and more! All of which adds to the kids’ excitement for his program. We’re so appreciative to have him in our community.

My 9 year old son had a fantastic time during summer camp at Train Children Chess! The staff was interactive with the children and very knowledgeable about chess. They are very organized. My son is excited to return to summer camp next year! We’re hopeful they will be at his elementary school during the upcoming school year. My son said, “I really liked it. I’m glad I learned more chess strategies. My teacher, Mr. Josh, was great!” Thank you for a fun learning environment!

My son has been a part of the after school Chess Club through the Train Children Chess Academy for the last two years. He absolutely loves it! He has grown so much from the lessons and regularly comes home and wrecks me in games now with the new skills he's learned. And I love that he gravitates toward chess over video games. Win win. My kid loves going to this chess program and asks every year to be part of it. She enjoys the mini tournament session they get to do and playing with different players each time.
