In town for business and had the pleasure of working out at this huge location. I only utilized the weight room. This place has good variety of different equipment. However, there needs to be some maintenance done on some of the equipment. For example, the LifeStyle cable system needs to be lubricated. Found some of the grips are tearing apart, some carabiners don’t close fully. Other than that, this is a really nice place with friendly staff and clean facilities.

Bay Club is no longer worth the premium. I would have given Bay Club 5 stars at the start of my time there, but over the last year the quality has gone down by a large margin, at least at the Pleasanton location. There were spots of dried blood on the ground in multiple places that were there for literally months that the staff did not seem to care about despite me letting them know. Often, simple things like gym towels, paper towels, and soap will be empty. One of the main attractions is pool access as part of the membership, but they rent it out to third party clubs during peak hours in the summer so you're not even getting what you pay a premium for. They have a day care, but don't seem to mind if little kids are constantly running around the weight lifting area - it's insanely dangerous for the kid and the person exercising. Despite all this drop in quality, Bay Club increased rates three times within ONE year.

I recently went to the Fitness 19 in Livermore and the weight room quality was equivalent to Bay Club in Pleasanton at around less than 20% of the price. You just don't have access to the pool or tennis courts.

Edit: They commented to this review in less than an hour, but ignored my emails in the last couple months of my membership. 🙁

I’ve been with Bay Club for a few years now and it was nice at first, but they have increased prices 4 times over the past 2 years. Every 6 months we get a price increase without any noticeable improvements and the price increases are quite a lot each time. It’s just not worth it anymore so I’m going to need to cancel my membership. I may update if the cancellation process is a pain.

This place has everything. There are four pools including an adult only pool with underwater speakers that play music while you swim. There's a nice cafe with a range of food and drink options. And a huge selection of equipment, too. Lots of exercise classes and even child care is available onsite. The lockers and entire facility are very clean and well kept throughout. If you're looking for a new gym, definitely check this place out.

What does $200-300 a month get you? A 24hr fitness filled with people who can afford $200-300 a month and nothing more. Were you hoping to use the pool? Too bad, there’s a class. Did you need to use the bathroom? Too bad, they’re out of TP. Members don’t respect the space because management doesn’t respect the members.

Disappointed Parent

We joined Bay Club Pleasanton specifically for the childcare, a service that seemed essential considering the high cost of the basic membership. Our first experience was good. The daycare staff was welcoming and attentive towards our 9 month old. However, subsequent visits were a stark contrast.

Here's why we left Bay Club Pleasanton:

Inconsistent Care and Lack of Stimulation: Our baby who crawls and stands outgrew the swing awhile ago, yet he was placed in it on multiple occasions "because he got tired." We specifically requested floor time and feeding during a later visit, but neither happened. Even more concerning, we discovered our baby was left in a soiled diaper for the entire hour even after requesting for diaper change. This not only creates discomfort but hinders any potential for social interaction or a pleasant experience for our child. We were also told that parent requests like ours for floor time, diaper changes, and feeding could not be consistently followed due to shift changes. This seemed dismissive of our needs.
We emailed both Sara (who initially contacted us) and the managing director to request a meeting with the childcare manager. However, our emails were completely ignored. A simple acknowledgement requesting to know what the concern was would have been appreciated, especially considering the aggressive sales push we received from Sara with back-to-back emails and calls. This lack of communication after the initial positive interaction speaks volumes about Bay Club Pleasanton's commitment to customer service, particularly for families seeking childcare.
For the price tag, Bay Club Pleasanton boasts a "luxury" experience, but our experience fell far short. The lack of communication and inconsistent care were unacceptable. Restrooms are dirty and need a big upgrade. They seem to charge fees for every possible thing, despite the pricey memberships. As far as gym and other amenities goes, they are similar to any nice gyms in the city. If you're looking for reliable childcare alongside your workout, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
