In a world full of negative opinions and reviews we wanted to leave a positive review of our experience with Celtic Soccer club. Our 7yr old son started playing soccer several years ago with the Celtic Soccer club and has loved his experience! He really enjoys his Coach and his Coach has even reached out to us requesting for our son to be placed back on his team as he thinks he can help our son reach his fullest potential!! As a parent we also enjoy being on the soccer fields with our son as we sit with many of our friends on the sidelines that also have their kids playing for Celtic!! With as many teams and players they have sometimes mistakes happen but that is to be expected when you’re a big league like Celtic. In my opinion they are doing a great job at running and keeping the league organized! Thank you Celtic for helping me keep my 7yr old son active in a safe and fun environment!!

This organization is a joke! I have been trying to get my son enrolled for the competitive league, but no one is willing to return my calls or answer my emails. I've called numerous times, day after day, and nobody has gotten back to me. Their voicemail even says that a director will get back in touch and doesn't even take the initiative to follow up about my inquires. I even reached out through social media and the person running the account is clueless and responds when it's beneficial to them.

Find another club! Celtics charge for failure. Paid close to $2000 in fees and uniforms for nothing. Five games, cancelled tournaments, fired two coaches and never finished the season. I requested a refund for the failure and was twice told by the director he would bring it to the board. Never got a response. I know of other people that have also requested refunds and one that actually got a partial refund. There are much better clubs in the area where you may actually get what you pay for.

This has been my son's first experience with soccer (he is 4.) It was so fun to watch him laugh and love it! I highly recommend it!! Coach John and Coach Grace are so great with the littles!! We started with the Little Rascals program. This is such a great intro as I wasn't sure if my son would like it, (turns out he LOVED it!) I love how they have different locations and times to choose from also which was helpful for us around tball and school. Definitely worth checking out if you have littles that are interested in soccer!!

We did soccer there for several years. It was ok. They added fields in Pinellas and expanded several years ago. That’s when things went downhill. To justify their expansion we had to drive all over to play teams from those fields. Scheduling was constantly changing and it was not convenient to the families. Games were cancelled and relocated to other fields. Often a cancelled game was rescheduled for the next day without consulting the families. We just got tired of the hassle and left.

Has bathrooms with more than just one stall. Good grass. I hear the concession stand is good, parking is a little cramped but is in the middle of all the fields so is good. I have 2 kids playing rec soccer for their first times with this club and it’s good. No bleachers. No playground. Not much shade at all. Kids love it though 🙂

Our take with the Celtic soccer program in Largo, FL.

Our daughter started in the Soccer Shots program at an early age. When she aged out, we were recommended to Celtic Rec as a good next step. We had a very good experience with coach Andrew with U10 girls. Our daughter has shown a lot of talent in the sport and wanted to pursue it even farther by trying out for a competitive team. Everyone that watches her play asks "does she play with a club?"

We had some questions about the process and began some emails back in Jan/Feb. No response. Weeks went by and no response. 1st red flag.

We also inquired about the United Club in Pinellas Park and the Chargers in Clearwater. We got immediate responses from both clubs and phone calls as well. However, already being in the Celtic family, we continued to consider Celtic as our top choice. Even though I had my doubts with the lack of communication.

The stinger is, all 3 clubs schedule their tryouts on the same days and times. With that said, both United and Chargers were communicating with us regarding some other options. Celtic made no attempt to work beyond their tryout schedule.

Our daughter could only make one tryout due to a previous obligation with her school. We felt this was going to be a problem and as it turns out, it was.
Weeks went by after tryouts with no communication from Celtic regarding if she made it or not. Even after an inquiry about it. More red flags. The director finally responded "we don't communicate with all our players".

I find this unacceptable practice. Our family was willing to spend thousands of dollars and countless hours to the Celtic team, and they don't even have the decency to let you know where you stand. You are left in the dark.

The Chargers coach met with our daughter on a days notice and accessed her skills. He said she scored very high in a lot of skills and avg on others. Nothing was low. Offered her a position on the team right on the spot. This coach has 20+ years experience in this age group and represented the organization with class and professionalism.

If we didn't have such a good experience with Celtic Rec and coach Andrew, this would have been one star.

Overall communication is poor and their PR is not good. Emails do not get responded to in a timely manner and your navigating through murky water.

We've had friends go through the Celtic club program and they have all said "you just have to put up with it" if you want to be a part of the club.

This is not the way to treat families that are just looking for answers. Any great organization has great communication.

Other clubs make you feel welcome and are willing to work with you. Celtic does not have that vibe. I think the club has some growing pains and is too big for them to handle. I'm happy for their success but at what cost?

Best of luck!
